It was east of Vimy Ridge (Somme) I believe where they had to withstand a few gas attacks, and thus were decimated.
The point I'm interested in is when they had been returned to strength and took part in the September 1918 battle at Ploegsteert Wood, on the Ypres Salient.

I did indeed go to check my bat/reg bit was correct.- which it wasn't originally, I said it became one of the East Lancs regiments, which it didn't. It became part of the East Lancs Regiment. there were lots of batallions in the east lancs regiment, each named after the local town that it was sourced from. The Accers became famous as so many were wiped out completely in one single action. The Mike harding link is on me music linkies.

Thank you.
Now, without 'Googling' (or whatever), can anyone give me the Regiment that the 'Accrington Pals' Battalion was part of?

sorry yeni, I had a zx 80 and then also a ZX81. The zx81 was truly the worlds first affordable home computer. it was basic (very) . The manual was 600 pages long and it taught you programming from a very basic level.(not quite html but a similar style) Indeed, the new rasberry unit will have a similar basic programming style. ZX81 also spawned a whole new wave of software writers which became game companies. Yeni, I was right with the last question and I am right with this answer. I can show you my zx81 with it's 16k ram as soon as you wish to view it. Spectrum was just another stepalong the highway.
