New York?
If that's not the correct answer, I'm going to get the grey cells working again - things have been a bit lax today.
1961. The year after U2, that I can now remember.

Avro Vulcan did it in 20 hrs a year after (1960) a Valiant did non stop Singapore.
It wasn't a trick question but I have to add that the Vulcan received fuel while in the air over Cyprus, Karachi and Singapore., Nevertheless it was the first official NON STOP flight from England to Australia. Over to you Yeni.

Sorry, but the Thread Rules state - no football questions - see Post # 1, Whit. (and the timing is 6 hours, not a day, vide Post # 14). Apart from that, I could tell you when Aberdeen played Real in the ECWC Final, and won!

That one in Stalingrad, wasn't it?
Can't for the life of me remember its name.
If nobody has answered correctly by about 11:30 - I'll probably be able to tell you - a couple of pints will help the memory process!

Sunny and pleasantly warm, not unlike Florida but a tad more expensive.
I didn't realise until today that Kathy Kirby the singer from the sixties had died in May, she was a very old friend of mine. Having heared the news I looked her up on Wiki and found they had made a mistake in where she grew up, but that is understandable.
Q#43.
Who was the British athlete who leading a race, collapsed before the finishing line in a Major sporting event.
