The Republic of Albania. I was going to make reference to a British comedian (Norman Wisdom) being revered there but that would have been too much of a clue.
You can get there from Bari? in Italy and Corfu. Apart from thru the old Yugoslavia, of course.
Question # 16.
What and where* is the “Menin Gate” and what happens there every evening?

The menin gate is the memorial built for the battle of Ypres, if i remember rightly their use to be a gate but it was removed before the war to widen the road. it was the main road to the front.
I know you like full answers yeni but i do not know for the life of me what happens at the memorial every night. hopefully somebody will step up to the plate and finish the answer of.
edit....
sorry missed the country of, it is of course Belgian

Sorry about that - had to nip out. Menin Gate Answer: The Menin Gate Memorial [in Ypres/Iepers, Belgium], to the Missing is one of four British and Commonwealth memorials to the missing in the battlefield area of the Ypres Salient in Belgian Flanders. The memorial bears the names of 54,389 officers and men from United Kingdom and Commonwealth Forces. Every evening at 8pm the road (the N8/N332) thru the Memorial is closed to traffic and the 'Last Post Ceremony' takes place. www.greatwar.co.uk/ypres-salient/memorial-menin-gate.htmThere used to be a hotel not far from the Memorial called “The Shell Hole”. It is now the “Ambrosia”. The Town Hall encompasses the 'In Flanders Fields' museum. We'll be there in May. Youse having a holiday over there in August? To #17 - 'Bambi' [didn't one of the Steptoes say this in one (or more) episodes?]

'In Flanders Fields Museum' closed...?
That's a blow, haven't seen anything about that, as everything's booked - ferry (we're going by car), accommodation, etc.
Mind you, there's more than ample there to keep us sight-seeing for a long while.
Anyway, have to have a good think about the question then.... one of his songs, maybe?

There's a snake featured on the flag of Mexico, that I know, but it won't be a rattler as that's predominately American (USA), hazard a guess - a white snake?
