One thing I have always liked about this little web space is you can express your point of view without getting the abuse I see on other web forums if your opinion does not suit the masses even though we don't always agree lol which is how it should be.
So time for me to put my head above the parapet and express my humble views I'm lucky to have a small insight to what has been going on .
First of all lets start with Riga no doubt a nice guy but also way to stubborn, progress at Blackpool is a slow evolving process and can take years not months and while some lay all the blame at the owners doors some of the players he wanted also wanted eye watering wages by even championship wages and in some cases was a case of well you got millions and I'm going to want to spend it in one go. This is a fault of both Riga and Oystons though neither party really did their homework on each other.
Karls way of doing business is simple here is your base salary and he is what you can earn if you make the team and perform sadly this is a alien concept to footballers and agents and until that changes Karl will forever be head-butting the establishment wall, so the family have to learn from this and come up with a new recruitment policy asap.
The writing was on the wall when 5 weeks of stubbornness and cock waving at each other resulted in the club sign nobody? who to blame is simple chairman and manager it really is that simple.
While I admire Riga for the way he wanted to play you have to adapt to the players at your disposal and that never happened we are still desperately short of a quality right and left back and while they say you should never go back Riga refused to sign Crainey even though a deal was agreed and while he might have lost some of his pace and from what I have seen so far he would clearly have been a better option to have in the squad and the same happened with Dobbie and Angel all agreed but Riga said no. while none of them would have set the championship on fire they had experience and knew how Blackpool worked and would have been good to have around for the players coming in.
So his reign his now in the history books and that should be a end to it but the oyston family really do need a decent PR person because every time Karl opens his mouth it just comes out all wrong and is like a pile up on the motorway.
I have watched the pool for 32 years a small bit of time compared to some fans but in that time I have also seen worse than our currant position happening at Bloomfield not much worse admittedly but times have been bad before.
Moving forward to the appointment of Lee Clark and if you can get pass all the social media rubbish and slagging off that is already going on I really don't care if he likes a drink he can be as pissed as a lord for me as long as he can change things around, people look at his record at Birmingham and start to cry but he has gone through probably one of the worst times in that clubs history regarding finances and player budgets.
My only concern is he might be just to young for this role as I feel a old head might have been a better choice in the circumstances but lets not forget he knows what he is walking into so fair play to the guy as Blackpool Fc could ruin his managerial career for ever so at least he is willing to risk it all.
I certainly will support him as I have done over the years for many different managers but to call for him to be booed on Saturday as is being propagated some social media is beyond a joke and I say to all those going to boo a new manager before a ball is kicked to please go and follow another team.
The tangerine spirit and willing to fight is what is needed like the fans have always done, forget the prem that's history for now, but you can never keep a pool fan down we always rise to a challenge.
just my humble thoughts feel free to discuss and disagree
regards Sherlock

All fair comment Sher.
Talking of Lee Clark though we might just have a little gem on our hands if it is handled right. His record at Huddersfield was incredible and second to none. He failed at Birmingham but it was always a poisoned chalice with a corrupt foreign owner(now in jail abroad)and debt coming out of their ears.
He'll do for me and I hope and pray if he is appointed the fans give him a fair crack,,,they usually do.
The only downside for him is will he pass the Ali totty test,,,,not sure on that one. UTMP

Good post, Sherl, glad to see you are still around. I know April is chuffed at Riga's departure, I have to say your comments about Crains, Dobs and Angel were news, and will colour my view of Riga.
I wish any appointed manager all the best, as have argued in another place, I never want to see the Tangerines losing, no matter what a car crash Karl is making of running the club. Clark has a lot to prove after a hiccup, well, so did Ollie and that didn't turn out too bad.
If we can just scrape the points to avoid relegation, surely even Karl will learn in the end that expenditure needs to be a balance between hoarding for tomorrow ( I'm being kind) or spending everything.
Onwards and upwards

Feeling a little despondent about everything at the minute, would love to feel happier about things, but finding it v difficult. We should all be pleased that Riga has been sacked , results, form n bottom of the championship spks volumes but I feel sorry at the way he's been treated, but then again I suppose we'll never know the full story, it's like everyone else a gagging order and dare u risk your future career by spking out. Not overly impressed if we sign Clark , but suppose it's a question of wait n see what he can do? Piece of totty, not mine , suppose I'll have to come back to the ground and see what else is on offer, u don't know who he'll bring with him lmao xx

Its always important that Manager and owner are working together and this was never the case. KO didn't realise that Riga was a coach and not a manager. Riga did not feel it was his role to find players, only to train them and pick the team. Without a scouting system and with KO refusing to pay for one, it was always going to be a mess. Especially as Karl was left to negotiate the contracts! Surely this is a simple matter which should have been discussed at the interview stage? That's why we've ended up with a load of cheap rejects last minute, and no cohesive recruitment policy. Something KO said would never happen again ! To my mind KO did not do his homework on Riga, has dismantled a loyal and established backroom staff and fallen out with almost everyone he has employed. He does not value his employees contribution and at the same time refused to invest in any long term strategy. Everything is done off the hip In a nutshell he has failed the club, whilst lining his pockets with a huge windfall and without recognising the people that made it happen (apart from his own family of course). I think he actually hates football players in the same way he hates agents. He has made too many bad decisions and I believe is out of his depth in running a championship club. I did believe he had learnt from his past mistakes and was looking forward to seeing what Riga could do. By the start of the season I knew I had been duped. I will not make the same mistake again. I won't be buying another ST until he's gone or I actually see some investment. Rant Over

I know April is chuffed at Riga's departure Not really, I'm sure he could be a very good manager for the right club . . . . unfortunately I never felt that Blackpool was the right club for him, nor he the right man for Blackpool and his "relationship" with Karl degenerating into a metaphorical "Furthest Up The Wall" contest seems to indicate this was the case. As for Lee Clark, Yes, he's had a torrid time at Brum but he had a phenomenal record at Huddersfield Town. If, an I appreciate it's a very big IF, Karl backs him as he has said he would, I feel we could have another "Ollie" on our hands

So far I think he is doing a good job personally, simple things like arranging friendlies during the break rather than giving the squad 8 days off is the right sort of action
