having return from my hols I see Ince has given the players 7 days to let him know if they are staying or going. so does that make tomorrow d day? wonder who will stay if any, I really can not see Crainey staying as its his last chance at earning more and I think baps is gone already

In no way wanting to re open old wounds, but I think how many stay will be an indication of whether KO has modified his stance, either giving PI a budget to spend how he likes ( fewer paid more) or himself working to keep at least 4 of these 7.
Wouldn't hold my breathe but will be delighted to be proven totally wrong

I think PI has an uphill struggle one way or another this summer, so wish him the best of luck, he is going to need it.
Would not be surprised to see some of our longer serving players depart and as for any being brought in I am looking forward to seeing who PI goes for.

looks like we might have our answer
KARL Oyston has warned that “all bets are off” for Blackpool’s seven out-of-contract players and he has begun the search for replacements.
Alex Baptiste, Kirk Broadfoot, Stephen Crainey, Neal Eardley, Barry Ferguson, Ludo Sylvestre and Gary Taylor-Fletcher have all been offered new deals at Bloomfield Road.
Manager Paul Ince asked them for a response by the end of the weekend in order to avoid delays in his urgent squad rebuilding process.
And chairman Oyston told The Gazette the club cannot continue to wait for them to make up their minds.
Oyston said: “There is a proper procedure we are going through, and the players were given a deadline which has now passed, so all bets are off.
“It’s a difficult situation but we have to act in the club’s best interests.”
The chairman is aware that manager Ince wants to keep as many of the seven as he can and that some of the players concerned have given Pool excellent service over several seasons.
But Oyston insists the club must come first, adding: “We have to get a squad assembled quickly enough to give the manager the time he needs with them before the season begins.
“I can’t blame players for wanting to see if they receive other offers. But unfortunately we have to get on with the job of building a squad for next season.
“We are in the process of contacting other players with a view to replacing everyone who needs to be replaced.”
Though the door has not yet closed on those out of contract, they could find their tangerine jerseys taken if they continue looking to keep their options open.
One player Ince has no wish to have to replace is son Tom, though Pool are bracing themselves for summer offers for the winger, who has had a 12-month extension to his contract activated.
Besides continuing to be linked to Premier League sides, particularly former club Liverpool, Ince was reported yesterday to be a target for Italian giants Inter Milan.
Father Paul made over 50 appearances for Inter in the mid-1990s, between his spells at Manchester United and Liverpool .

I hope at least we can keep hold of Broadfoot, Ludo and Fergie. As for getting the squad assembled as soon as possible, well that is different, in previous years it has always been last minute deals. What have the 7 been offered, lower wages, the same or more, can only imagine less as they havn't exactly jumped at renewing. Gilks and another couple of players a few years back took some time to renew, must have gone well into the summer before deciding, so not sure if it is take it or leave it type of deal or if they do indeed negotiate with KO.

With the financial Fair play starting to take effect and the fact that there have been too many players chasing too few contracts for a whle now, this is a buyers market no question. We don't want players that feel a grudge about what they get paid or think they would do better elsewhere. We want hungry, talented, hard working players that want to play in the Prem one day. If its all about the money then they're not for us.
Agents are going to have to earn their corn over the next few years and build a players CV before they cash in.
