Well, it's finally happened. Sir Alex has stepped down from being the manager at United. It's weird to thing that this is the first time since before I was born that United have been without a manager.
Certainly the greatest manager of my lifetime, don't really feel qualified to talk about the greatest of all time, but he's certainly up there. I don't think we'll see someone like this again, to stay at the same club for 26 years in today's managerial climate just isn't going to happen.

Have to say that I never took to the guy, but he did wonders at United. I counted up our managers since he took over at Old Trafford and we have had eleven in his time, he will certainly be a hard act to follow for their next manager. Interesting to note that for a good period of our own success story we had a very long standing manager in the shape of Joe Smith, unfortunately stability is a rare commodity in football this day and age. I was around at the time of the Munich disaster when United were doing so well until that terrible tragedy so have always had I suppose you would say a "very little" soft spot for them. As for another 26 year Premiership manager, very little chance, with you on that score, but just hope we can have a little stability manager and player wise for a few years.
