Just read the beeb report on the game, guess I must have been somewhere else this afternoon.
Do you know, it so reminded me of early last season, absolutely dominant, playing great passing football and keep ball, but never getting into the box for a shot. Not sure we can blame the appalling looking pitch for that, some lovely passing.
Incey gets knocked off the ball too easily, what are we to do with him? Matty was a lot more agressive, well done, Derbyshire took the central role, but not a lot of final product. Some lovely little passes through the inside forward channel. Love to see the Fonz starting, his heading on fits the current style.
Well see why young MacKensie was brought in, very solid big defensive unit!! That little sxxx Stead forever backing into him, or trying to, just stood there and headed over him, calm on the ball, and a real threat, with Bamby, at set pieces (why oh why didn't they try for more corners??)
Ref had a bit of a mare, two missed handballs in the box in a couple of minutes, one maybe debatable, the other nailed on, player was on the floor dragging it away from Thomas(?) with his arm.
Could easily have been a hatful, couple of chances to them as well, but defence pretty much coped.
Anyone else think Baps looks knackered?
One more point to wards safety, and, in my humble opinion, quite an exciting game, very entertaining.

Thank god for that I was daft enough to stray and read peoples thoughts elsewhere and half seem to be calling for Inces head already it really beggars belief.. yes no goals but i thought they looked better than last week my only concern is can we please stop the eard experiment and put a proper midfield player on the pitch.
I think they all looked knacked after 70 mins? maybe they are not use to training lol put seriously what are people expecting playing on that dog of a pitch at least both sides tried to keep it down and pass it around best they could.
one more thought please can the fonz start in the middle of the front 3 as he clearly showed that he will win the headers.
you can see they are working hard on the training ground just from the new corner routine and how the keeper managed to keep Broadfoots header out still puzzles me lol

Thanks guys, must be very frustrating for Ince Snr not to see a goal or two yet let alone a win. I have said it before, I think Fonz needs game time and up front, I am sure if we just get that break we could get started on a late run, enough to survive this season in the Championship.Have a nice weekend.

Two more things, LOL
Midfielder kicked in the maraccas ( not sure whether it was Fergie or Angel), no card late in the game, very odd.
Derbyshire getting his head punched 2 handed by their goalie, throw in given, no card, no foul (punching someone for whatever reason has to be dangerous play). And the nonsense where Derbys had to go off when play restarted, I still can't get my head round why the team with a damaged player has to lose out.
Yet again, it looks like sour grapes because we didn't win, but if we ever get a fair run of decisions from the officials, it certainly won't harm us.
So agree about Da Fonz, he always looks to head on near the box, begging for a follow up striker behind him.
Onward and upward, much happier after seeing that performance, just need a bit of luck.

The midfielder who took one to the nuts was fergie lol how he even managed to get up is a feat itself. the officials are of a awful standard in the championship in my humble view, they are not even fit enough to keep up with the game like the linesman on the west stand side

The only exciting thing about the game was that at 0-0 anyone could have won it. Both teams (understandably)playing long ball. Inces shot in the first half got a standing ovation in the South because after 40 mins it was the first we'd seen on taget. Fact is that both teams had two or three chances to score and that was about it. I'm not having a go at the players who IMO are trying their best and giving 100%. In fact they are being far more positive than the "fans" who are becoming a joke. Bad enough half the crowd leaving early but now some of the morons that stay behind think that booing is the correct response when we don't win. Thankfully the proper fans then applauded after Gilks was visably upset by the reaction. I really look forward to watching the Pool, win, lose or draw, but recently I have just not enjoyed being part of the Tangerine Army who are behaving like spoilt kids or are completely clueless. The pitch is embarrassing but there's no way the players can do anything about that. Just imagine if Matty had scored at Wembley last May and we'd held on, how the Premiership would have reacted to playing on that junk yard!! The fact is that KO would have been told to replace it or be fined. There should be a minimum standard required at all levels with inspections carried out by the league.
I would like to see some intent from Karl to sort things out and the fans get behind the team again or its away games only for me next year when at least we have a good set of fans watching good footy on a proper pitch. Thats how I felt yesterday after leaving the ground.

Got that off my chest now.
The Fonz deserves a start no question. He wins 90% of long balls and shows a lot of desire to get forward. Baps was knackered because he'd covered the whole bloody pitch for 20 mins in the 2nd half Fergie seems reborn and was excellent. Matty needs to grow some or he'll be off. Ince won't stand for that. Mackenzie had a fine debut and looks like a real prospect. I love defenders that just take control and have time on the ball. True class. Bristol City will go down.

Never booed a player in all my time watching, although at times witnessed some players particularly a few years back who showed little interest in playing in the team. Strangest think of all was on Wednesday evening when BBC south east showed footage of the Gillingham game and at the end after losing 1-0 the crowd or some of them at least could be seen and heared booing the players of the field and they are top of the league ffs. In our case if only Broadfoot had scored things would have been a bit different, but best not dwell on that or someone will come along and say their auntie may just as well scored.
