This has nothing to do with the club's accounts, will leave that to Sherlock but just been reading about the bank RSB which survived mainly due to tax payers money and has just shown a loss of £5.2 BILLION for 2012, yet has managed to pay out millions in bonuses.
How can an organisation make a loss and then pay out bonuses when no doubt those who work there are on stomping big salaries anyway.
This follows the revelation that British Gas profits rose by 11% and yet they have just recently raised customers charges by 6%.
We are all in it together then, I see, well Mr Cameron I hope you get a bloody nose at Eastleigh tonight at the hands of UKIP, because trusting Labour with the economy would be worse still.
Over and out.

What bothers me about the whole thing is that they have not learnt the lessons that have got us all in this mess. At a very basic level, when I took something into the bank a couple of weeks ago, they were keener to sell me something I didn't want than they were to do what I needed. This is despite having been given a considerable amount of my own money back by them for misselling us an insurance policy.
As for BG, haven't a clue what the real story is, I suppose they are entitled to a profit for their investment, it's just the figures look bonkers to us mere mortals.
Come the revolution !!!!!

Oh, they have learnt their lessons alright, they sre cutting the welfare budget, cutting benefits, cutting childcare allowance, cutting out charitable tax benefits, allowing foundation hospital trusts to go into administration while giving grants to BUPA funded hospitals 2 miles away. Oh, these "in it together" politicians have learnt well. Feck the masses, look after number 1.

Its very simple how they manage to pay bonus to the greedy sods, they have split the business in two and pay the money from the profitable side of the business. The whole farce of the matter is its publicly owned but the public have no say. I am sure there are people in this country that would happily do the job for a fraction of the cost say 50k a year and get better results, only problem is they have not been to Eaton or Harrow.
between Westminster and the EU the whole country is shagged and i for one given the chance will be happy to abandon the sinking ship HMS Britian

You got me fired up now and annoyed lol and amazed at the toothless british press it turns out that RBS actually made a profit of 4.2 billion which they should have paid tax on!!!!! but oh no thanks to loop holes yet again in our system they then get to report a massive loss to avoid paying tax but still get to keep 4.2 billion in real money as they are playing fantasy banking again.
And this is how they do it.
They basically issue the good old fashion bank bonds, something I thought had long since passed when queen Victoria passed away but apparently not. The bonds are issued against money borrowed from other banks, now nobody even has to buy them the key word is they have issued them in fact to buy them is rather hard to do, if the bank in question started turning massive profits the cost of buying back any bonds would rise rather significantly and they are allowed to put into the accounts the cost of buying back the bonds at a future inflated price even if they do not sell any!!!!!
So the future cost goes in the accounts every year and wipes out the profits and then they don't have to pay any tax to HMRC as the accounts record a loss even though they really have made a profit.
Hope that makes sense but in english they made a profit in real money then dodged paying any tax by including fantasy money and costs that might happen in years to come

I think I have an understanding now thanks Sherlock, let's just hope football clubs don't get to hear of the scheme.

no football clubs just pay for the use of a players image rights to a off shore company so somebody on 100k a week only 5k is wages and 95k paid to a off shore image rights company. this country would not be in a mess if everybody paid the taxes instead of just the working and middle class after all we keep being told we are all in it together
