I am not normally superstitious but I am this week.
I was planning to go to Ipswich to see the Pool play but since 1962 the first time I visited, I have yet to see us win there and this would have been the seventh visit.
I 2009, we had a good midweek game winning at Boro and Ipswich hadn't won for some time and were well down the league and I felt this was going to be the day, but alas no.
Ollie had changed about 5 players including Charlie from the Boro game and within a minute we were 1 down, the killer goal coming just before the half time whistle.
A draw a couple of times has been the best and if ever we needed a win it is right now to keep the confidence up and push away from the bottom of the league.
If I don't go perhaps we will get the win, be worth it even though it is an easy 2 hour run up there.

I would go lol my lad has been bugging me to go to a away match all season and for the first time in weeks he has no match this weekend but Mr s not impressed at the thought why is there never a decent shopping complex near a football ground when you need one.

Yep, afraid East Anglia is not a shoppers paradise, but my wife and grand daughter did come with me a couple of years back, parked in what was FOCUS's car park and they walked to around the shops on that estate, over the road to the big sainsbury's and had a snack in Mac's. Just a ten min stroll to the ground from the main river crossing were we parked.

I use to work in the AXA offices that look onto the back of the ground so can not even say I'm sure you will find some decent shops lol. Going back to being superstitious it is strange how you can fall into a routine when it comes to watching pool or any other team for that matter. I have a set routine and if anything gets in the way of that routine I tend to get a bit grumpy before a match lol
Also have a couple of grounds that I will never go to again as well, Hopefully we will never be in the same division again one being Aldershot and the other being Halifax

Just a follow up on the day's events. After all these years following Pool, the loss on a Saturday is never easy to take and the evening for me is the lowest point of the week. With so many games ending with a one goal defeat, have we been a tad unlucky at times, are we not organised enough, are we missing certain players, or a combination of all these. One thing I do think we lack is a spark on the field, someone to lead the team, when Charlie first came to play for us you could see the passion he had and it spread throughout the team, we need a player to show that now. I don't see the bulk of the team going from play off contenders one season to relegation the next, we are not a bad outfit and with luck the manager situation will be resolved in a day or so resulting in a mid table finish to the season that will steady the ship at least until the summer transfer saga begins.

Cheers for that, Whit, one nils are always harder to take. I think you are spot on re a leader. Baps is a smashing bloke who gives 100%, but from the sidelines he does not seem to fire into his team mates. We so need the "never say die" back, but I guess what has been going on off the pitch has bound to affect all their motivation. Such a shame after such an awesome start, seems odd to be back to where we were when Larry left, relying on TP to keep us up Hopefully a manager tomorrow, new broom, new motivational powers, a loan CF, and we could be flying again!

The team does not become rubbish over night I think the problem all season has been from day one manager wise and that includes ollie if your hearts not in it from the start its hard to get them going. Plus no matter how much ted hates him lol I really think the sale of southern was a massive mistake this season if ever you needed somebody who would never give up no matter if he was a yard of the pace or not it was Mr tangerine himself

Guess Ollie thought BF would step up to the mark, big mistake that was, and, if I'm honest, I suspect one of the factors making Ollie lose it.
