What do Bristol City, Blackburn and Hudderfield have that we don't? I know we've got some issues here at the mo, but any serious manger would look at the the long term. We are a club with money and a great fan base. We were a nats whisker off Prem football for two seasons running and have done it before.
Am I to believe that its all down to ambition?
These so called mangers want everything on a plate. Surely they have a part to play in a successful team and more so than the Chairman. It can't be all about the training facilities and a poor pitch. If you were an ambitious manager what would stop you coming here?
It can't just be Karl!...can it??
I'd love to get an insiders view just to see what the problem is.

It's a sadly pertinent question
We know that despite holding all the purse strings, KO leaves the football entirely to the manager, which many would love
We are not going to go bust in the next ten years
We have an inflated squad, with some unused talent that any half decent manager would believe he could develop into a couple of top players
We have one of the most exciting prospect in English football at least till the end of the season
Maybe managers are turning into as much prima donnas as the players
Or does KO just give crxp interviews? Mind you, whenever I've been for a job interview, or even more so when I have interviewed, it's up to the candidate to sell themselves, not the employer

Pete, I think it is all about ego, they go from one club to another using them as stepping stones to further ther careers and see success as the only way forward. Chris Houghton who I thought got a very rough ride with his boss at Newcastle, goes to show how vulnerable they are and show how little they know about KO, he hasn't exactly got a reputation for sacking managers, so doing a decent job here and you could stay for years. If any of the perspective managers have been put off it is more likely they have seen a club in relative freefall and to stem the slide and possible subsequent failure have not been convinced. There is also the usual step of managers bringing along to their new club a number of assistants, and KO not one to see money frittered away might not be too pleased with that idea. We can all go on about pitch, training ground and tranfer funds, but I honestly thik they are such vunerable creatures not knowing from one day to the next if they will have a job that they are unltra cautious when taking on a role.

Sadly football has become more about money, than actually playing the game we love. this is why in my opinion the game is dying and fast, With all the greed of players, agents , managers, chairman and clubs with massive ego's, money is more important than the game itsself! As said above if we approach a manager for the vacancy, it's a sure sign we'll be held to ransom, i for one would be looking at candidates who have applied for the job themselves and want it badly enough. Their must be loads of managers / coaches out their with the hunger and passion to succeed and that would come through when interviewed, but for me alot of managers in the game only see the dollar signand have a pricetag round their neck from the start As for Owen Coyle in 10 years he'll look back and regret being an egotistic money grabing numpty as if he's holding out for a big job, he's gonna have one hell of a wait!

Pikey, you answered your own question......."It can't be just Karl, can it"
Of course it can.
What other club in the football league has a chairman who 1. doesn't want progress, Premier league again would mean he has to install undersoil heating this time. 2 who will NOT spend money on the club- even though he has got oodles of it, 3 will NOT invest in infrastructure which will not make him money,(hotels yes, training ground yes, once he has planning permission for housing) 4 will NOT back his managers seriously in the transfer market 5.will not give his loyal Assistant Manager the time of day and just appoint him until the end of the season at least. It goes on and on.........and now other people have seen this, and don't want to be stuck under that smirking wurzel gummidge lookalike who drives more cars than an episode of Top Gear.
Sousa, Rosler are currenyly taking the batteries out of their phones and blocking his emails, praying for a position at Accrington Stanley or Torquey United to flop their way.

Our biggest selling point and also downfall is a manager will be left alone but also a lack of interest in football by the chairman as Holloway once said he has no targets to reach except those set by himself and the fans expectations.
Managers maybe are becoming like the players and believe their own press, coyle was offered 280k a year and a bonus on top, now its clear that 280k is not the going rate if his agent is to believed and to me that is just stupid thats still well over 2k a week after tax.
also as whit said many seem to just want to use it as a stepping stone to better things.
whoever is finally announced he has a lot of work to do sorting out the squad
The only stipulation Karl should make is that we no longer play hoof ball
