Just going to nip down Bloomfield and lend them a Fax machine after all they have a history of breaking down wonder what sort of player would sign for a club that does not have a manager? must be a johnny foreigner
BLACKPOOL are desperately trying to add to their squad ahead of tomorrow’s transfer deadline.
After 11pm on Thursday, no permanent deals can be struck for the rest of the season, though loan deals are still permitted.
Caretaker boss Steve Thompson has listed a number of targets, but in typical Pool fashion the chase is expected to go right to the wire.
Thompson confirmed Pool are in talks with a number of clubs. He said: “The calls will go in today and tomorrow. Obviously we have a lot of targets.
“They will have other options but hopefully they will choose to come to Blackpool. I think it’s going to be a mad week again. If the right person comes along, we’ll be able to get him in. Hopefully people will come looking at some of our reserve players too.
One player on Pool’s radar is Wes Thomas. The Bournemouth striker fired three goals in nine games on loan at Bloomfield Road before returning to the south coast at the start of the month.
The 26-year-old has featured in the Cherries’ last three games but is believed to be available. “Wes is one of many we are looking at,” confirmed Thompson.
“I’m sure he will have options but we’ll see what both parties want to do.”
Pool’s interest in Blackburn striker David Goodwillie appears to have died down.
While the Seasiders are keen to add to their squad, there could be outgoings as well as incomings.
Besides Tom Ince, Alex Baptiste is a potential target for Michael Appleton’s Blackburn and Neal Eardley has interested Millwall.
