Well to say 2012 was interesting might be a understatement from the heartache of loosing to West Ham to the flying start of this season and then the turmoil of the Ollie saga to the squads mid table position come the end of 2012, being a pool fan is never boring.
Maybe a case of running before we could walk was the underling problem and started with Ollie's grand development squad plan, which in fairness is what a lot of clubs do to try and find young talent but maybe having the training facilities in place first re training ground might have been advantageous to this master plan.
Then came the clear breakdown between Ollie and the oystons we will never truly ever find out what went wrong and to even try and work it out would probably lead to more conspiracies theory's than who shot JFK
Personally the inability to sign DJ and Dobbie or anybody with a prov-en track record could have been the nail in the coffin but then again signing 15 players that where never going to play for the first team this season might have been a underlying problem because even on Blackpool's wage structure they will be getting paid something and maybe that was money that could have been used to bring the others in, we will never know.
So to the new man in charge are we appy? is he appy? from what i have heard at least he turns up at training everyday and actually takes the training of the first squad with tommo which is something that had not been happening for a while before Ollie left.
Yes we all know he has been brought in with a job of cutting the squad down and this is going to take time and really how much can we truly expect from him this season as painful as it is to type that but its true.
As for the rest of the season ahead what can we hope for? personally a top 10 finish is what i think we should be able to achieve and with a fair wind and a bit of luck maybe just maybe another playoff spot but only 6Th, Maybe we would rather be the underdogs again and go on one of our crazy run of results.
Is Expectation to high for some fans? have we become a club that believes we have some sort of god given right to be up there every year or running away with the championship, personally I will just kick back put my feet up and enjoy the rest of the season no matter what it brings because in all truth there is nothing as a fan you can do about how the club is run or wage structure or transfer targets, the pitch etc etc so why worry about it.
End of year report grade C- room for improvement
A happy new year to everybody hop eyou all have a good one
