“KEEP your feet on the ground” – that’s the message to Pool fans from Ian Holloway.
The Pool boss said he was abused by a supporter ahead of Tuesday’s game at the KC Stadium.
Pool won a dramatic match 3-2 but had won only one of their previous five and Holloway has, quite rightly, hit back at the abuse.
He revealed: “When I got off the coach a Blackpool fan gave me a bit of stick. I don’t need to sort anything out – that’s my little message to him.
“To think, it was a Blackpool fan who stood by the coach and shouted at me. I think it’s nonsensical.
“I’d ask him what exactly I need to sort out. I think he should sort his life out. Think about all the teams you’ve had at this club before, all the times this club struggled, and compare them to now.
“I think you should be very proud and thankful of where we are.”
Holloway’s full squad was back at their Squires Gate training ground this morning to prepare for Saturday’s home clash against Charlton.
While the first team were given yesterday off, the unused players took on the Development Squad in a behind closed doors game.
Pool aim to go into the season’s second international break on a high, and Holloway hopes supporters carry on backing the side.
He added: “The fans are outstanding here – they back the team all the way. “I was so surprised by that (abuse) on Tuesday but I suppose the hype gets to some people. Every manager will probably get the same.
“I just feel that, even in the Huddersfield match, we more than held our own and had more than enough chances.
“I know what we are doing at this club, and if someone who calls himself a supporter doesn’t, I suggest he keeps his comments to himself. With the greatest respect, keep your feet on the ground!”

NOT ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What do these so called supporters want, we have everything in place and are heading in the right direction as a club, on and off the field! For christ sake we nearly went bust only a few years ago, just because we've had success in the play-offs , been to the Prem and have been at the right end of the table constantly in the last few years, does not give us the right to walk the Championship and go straight up, I think some supporters need a reality check and a dry slap to wake them from dreamland. Are these the same supporters seeing Pool getting beat 5-0 at home to york TWICE or 7-0 away to Barnet answer NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ollie is doing a fantastic job and building something special with us but it takes time and that supporter was way out of line and i would of p*ssed myself if Ollie gave him a back hander round the lughole! IF YOU DON'T LIKE WHAT OLLIES DOING AND THE CLUB ARE BUILDING GO SUPPORT Preston and watch that dross served up! Pathetic

Makes me laugh we loose two games on the trot and all hell breaks loose. last thing you need when you arrive at a ground is some mouth piece giving you verbal.
For fooks sake the season has only just started and yes I have moaned on here about barry the crab lol but i would never ever dream of giving abuse to the person that has made watching pool a pleasure for a change in the 30 odd years i have been watching.
expectations are higher but for fooks sake just enjoy what we have and had the last 3/4 years and what might to be to come again

The problem is Sherl, is that these people are the people that joined the promotion bandwagon and have stayed, after being an armchair fan of Manure and Liverpooh and all their success growing up in Blackpool and now they expect the same from Blackpool win win win! One of my best mates in Blackpool, when we were growing up, had every Man U kit and was a Man U fan but even to this day is still a Man U fan but has still never been to Old Trafford at the age of 32 but now goes to pretty much every Pool home game and some away but this is the same lad that when i lived in Blackpool never came to a home game with me EVER! and i used to go to every home game through the 90's and 50% away with my dad!!!!!!

Spot on, Rob
I just can't believe that we are doing what we are, just followed a car down through Windermere with a Pool banner in the back of the car, the local plumber has a BFC registration plate, 15 years ago, nobody wanted to know us.
Anyway, it's rude!! LOL

Don't know if Ian reads this forum, but if he does can I just say : -
Thanks for making the last 3 years the best in my almost half century of following the 'Pool. Keep doing what you're doing and taking the fans on "the best trip we've ever been on"

Thinking back to where we were in my first Pool game, probably about 15 yrs ago, at home to Watford (2-2 in Div. 2, I think), to where we are now, fans not only predicting promotion to the Prem, but expecting it - no contest at all. We aren't a big team, we probably never will be, and, to be perfectly honest, I don't want us to be. I'd much rather have 20 k or so real fans than heaps of plastics. Ollie, with the help of others, has transformed this club, and will always have a place at Bloomers, as far as I'm concerned at least.
Any fans abusing him should sod off, Ollie's the best thing to happen to BFC in a long time - without him, where would we be? Certainly not pushing for promotion to the Prem.

It is because of dick splashes like that supporter who abused Ollie that I stopped going this season after over fifty years going down to Bloomers. I couldnt trust myself anymore not to twat somebody. My son and I fell out to the point of near blows with three Scouse season ticket holders amongst others during last season. Everybody is entitled to their opinion, of course they are, but I cant sit still and listen to verbal abuse of my team, players and manager from "plastic" fans whose expectation levels are just ridiculous. Most folk stop going to watch their team because they are crap; I stopped going when they are playing the best football of my lifetime. It breaks my heart but I am too passionate and I cant change now. Fight anybody? UP THE POOL

I still think it is so sad that someone as committed as Sandy doesn't go because of the behaviour of other "fans"
Sherl, next time you're playing poker with Karl, why not suggest a few non plastic blocks?
"Yes, Sir, what can I book for you today?
Ticket, please.
Ah, yes, will that be whinging or non whinging?"

How good are you at poker Sherl, as it angers me with the Sandy situation No Pool supporter should ever have to make that decision because of whinging plastics! The amount of money Sandy and others have plummed into the club, especially over the hard times as i posted above is nothing short of disgraceful and it must hurt Sandy like hell and Karl should remember the true supporters as without us we may now be a distant memory. Tell Karl if he wins the poker game, we will back him for a leat a year, if he loses our forum board of directors get our own block for a season and free(putsomepillsinhiswhiskey) Give something back to the true supporters Karl!

The problem stems mainly from swapping people between stands since the south opened it made a real mess of everything. with the success comes the increase in gates as we all know. but no long suffering fan because that is what most of us on here are should be made to feel unwelcome in the ground of the team he has followed
