So at the moment or as of 10pm last night palace had not been given permission to speak to Ollie.
The biggest game of bluff and counter bluff is going on at Bloomfield and for once Karl you might just have to fold.
Information at the moment is rather thin on the ground because the club is in lock down.
Ollie wants a decent contract like 3 years and the training ground sorted or some facilities in place for winter
Karl wants players out on loan and the wage bill reducing as the gates do not cover the wage bill now.
Ollie has just bought a house in the area so up to 4 weeks ago was planning on staying.
So its stick or twist time Karl because rest assured if you do not give him what he wants the gates will start to fall and i very much doubt you will be welcome at your own club even if that does not bother you.
But as a business man sometimes you have to concede to move forward and you could effectively damage your money machine if you let Ian go.
On the other side of the coin Ollie you need to either get players out on loan or sadly let some players go by mutual consent.
So both of you stop trying to face each other down and get it sorted and if Ian does leave make sure you keep hold of tommo and give him the job as we need somebody who knows the system and players already or we can kiss goodbye to even making the top 6!!
or do i need to come and bang your heads together?

According to the BBC Breakfast News the palace chairman said last night "an approach has been made, but a deal is far from being done"

Just one more thing Ollie when has it bothered you what fans say so coming out with quotes like this is i think rather un fair after the way the fans last Saturday let you know how they feel about you.
“I’ve had a couple of weeks of being called names and things. I’ve just been trying to get on with the job.

Naughty step for both of them, then LOL
Spent a lot of time thinking about Ollie last night, and he really is a very complex character. Very analytical, yet wears his heart on his sleeve. Very vocal about learning from past mistakes and makes promises, that he then, for perfectly reasonable reasons, struggles to keep. Very loyal to his players, yet takes a punt on new names no one has ever heard of. Quite fragile, if I'm honest about our hero.
Whereas KO is head based, don't give a toss what anyone thinks. But he is also a very successful businessman, so one would have thought he could foresee the impact on the club's finances, ie the Oysten's finances, if he loses Ollie under such circumstances.
Compromise, anyone?

Also just think of the compensation the club or Karl could get if he was on a long contract. Just stop seeing who has the biggest balls and get it sorted.. Don't make me mad Karl!!!
The unrest this is causing is not healthy for the club or players or fans and even if you refuse this time to let him go Karl the seed has now been cast and without a clear statement of intent from you and ollie its only a matter of time

To have your best asset on a short term rolling contract is short sighted at best. Ollie has every right to feel aggrieved.
I can't help feeling the the situation with Barry Ferguson is the spark to this situation but its gone way past that now.
Personally I can't see a away out as Karl won't budge and Ollie is now thinking about his own future rather than that of the club. Very sad times.

Well Karl said money would be available should the club needed it as in the famous 11 million well i would say that is now one contract one training ground.
Was considering having a look on AVFTT but i guess they are in melt down lol
Confirmation that Ian Holloway's move to become the new manager of Crystal Palace is just a matter of time, according to sources in Blackpool.
While reports state that Blackpool have not given Palace permission to talk to their popular manager, it is understood that the Tangerines' chairman Karl Oyston will not stand in the way if Holloway decides he wants to move on.
