Cheers for the link, as always.
Have to agree with you, I understand his logic, but the world has moved on since Becks, and players like Rooney do not understand subsuming your own personality and desires for the sake of your teammates.

Sorry Ian think you wrong as well, you can not compare becks to Rooney or anyone except maybe Steve g as all Becks ever wanted to do was wear that England shirt and wear it with pride and desire.
To me becks is one of the last true England footballers as in the shirt was more important than money or celebrity or fame he wore it with great pride and sadly the lads now do not seem to show the same passion.
As for Terry besides the court case is he really a first choice England player anymore? same goes for a few of the others like Lampard and Ferdinand.
Best thing England could do is drop the lot and start with the future England players after all its only the euros more than anything we want to win the World cup again and its not going to happen to somebody has the courage to do what Germany and Spain did a few years ago and start again with the kids.
They all got off to a bad start but look at them now.

To be Honest I seem to have lost intrest in International Football, I think it is with being let down so many times. I'm sure by the summer I'll get into the Euro's but will be different as Its the first time I think we have no chance of winning.
As for the captain I dont really care. I saw Ferdinand on Football Focus saying he doesn't mind if he is captain or not as he will organise and shout just as loud without the armband and always remebr the Roy Keane interview when he said the only difference being captain is you have a toss before the game lol
