Another good scribe from Wee Ollie:
Whether you love or hate him (other fans) or he's the bee's knees ('Pool fans)
you can't help but sit up and listen and take notice.

Like Holloway says the late Nobby Stiles wouldn't be able to play the way the game is now.
I think it has taken a skill out of the game because it is possible to go to ground when tackling without it being a foul. You see players getting booked for tackles that a few years ago would be good tackles and you hardly ever see a 50/50 tackle any more. I used to like watching games where tackle were flying in and liked playing in them to honest lol

The whole tackling issue is spoiling the game, okay if both feet are off the ground and they clatter the player, off you go but for the love of god lets have some common sense and allow good old tackling. If you get the ball it should not be a offense for some over paid nacy boy to role around on the floor to get a player booked or sent off and then spring to his feet and run off.
A footballer use to get tackled pick himself up and get on with it but sadly those days are gone by the looks of it, a bit like the good old 6ft plus center forward which are being taken out of the game due to the protection given to goalkeepers these days

Agree with all the above. What we also need, though, is when there are really bad tackles ( remember the second Baggies one last season), risking someone's health, the penalty is severe. This might discourage the reckless, and allow proper tackles to be viewed with more equilibrium, and refs not feeling pressured to red card the trivial.
