Ian comments after the match
"That was a fantastic advert for how good the Championship is and how good it is going to be," said Holloway.
"There were two really good teams out there. I would have taken a point once it got back to 2-2, but an overhead kick has managed to get us the win.
"We started a bit better than them, passing it around and they couldn't get to us.
"We scored a brilliant goal, but they didn't wobble. They then scored as good a goal and really, as a coach, there was a not a lot I could have said to my team.
"They had a little spell and Aluko [scorer of Hull's equaliser] has hit that like a banana and then I think you saw both teams fluctuate with not enough knowledge or nous about how to win the ball back, and panicking a bit when the other side had got the ball
"It could have gone either way, but obviously I am delighted it has gone ours.
"I thought our two centre-halves summed it up by the end of the game. They got stronger, they won things, they were aggressive and they felt a bit better about the game, whereas we had a wobbly spell early on and it nearly cost us."
Holloway admitted Tom Ince was absent with a bizarre injury, before claiming he has a big future ahead of him.
"He twisted his hip and tore a muscle - it's a strange one, almost not a football injury," said Holloway.
"He has a big future ahead of him. He is definitely an England payer of the future. He is a phenomenal talent."
