We won the first three games of the season and in those games we had a midfield of Osbourne, Angel and Gomes. Since those first three games that midfield has not played together for some reason and as a result we have won one, drawn one and lost three.
Play these three together - it is not rocket science.
By all means make a couple of changes but making six or seven changes every game is not going to help. A settled side is needed and several players who have not played for ages comin in is not going to help.
The defence is dreadful, all it takes is a set piece and nearly every time the opposition is given an easy goal as Gilks stands like a statue on his line. Do they not learn how to defend set pieces in training?
Kevin Phillips - yes he was a great player and got some vital goals last season but he is simply not up to it any more and has been a complete waste of space this season so far so why is he continually selected to play?

Eleven changes for Tuesday night at Hull!!!! What is he trying to prove that he can play anybody and they will all gell? Midfield needs to be as above. Hope my trip on Tuesday will not be wasted. MP is useless, cant head a ball and has even stopped taking anyone on. KP is only a sub. We have got to give the younger lads ago and desperately need another central defender even on loan. I fear the worst.

Hey, look on the bright side, we're getting our bad spell out of the way.
Everyone wanted Eards and BF dropped, GTF and Incey knackered/crocked, not too sure what else he could do. KP is an enigma, will he have one more good spell, this time last year his goals kept us afloat. Ollie does believe he can have a swappable squad, but for some reason our defence has lost it's cohesion.
Patience, my friends, in Ollie, we trust

Well I am not going to reach for the panic button yet but its great having a massive squad does not mean we have to use them all. If we have to many get some out on loan at least they will be match fit! and can be recalled after 28 days i would rather take the gamble on doing that.
But for the love of god please play Angel Gomes and Osbourne and its not often i agree with Ted but it really is not rocket science.
We need to look at the loan market as our defence is still leaking at set pieces
I would be tempted to start Halstead in goal on Tuesday to give Gilko a rest and a wake up call.
But above all remember last year we chopped and changed but when we settled on a side and stuck to it we secured a playoff place and reached the final.
A few final points really KP 90 Mins is a no no and its unfair on him to some extent and how can you expect him to stick it in the net when the service is not around and where is the lad Noguera the one everybody was going on about in pre season?

I know Ted won't agree, but we miss Gnashers. We seem to be trying the Arsene Wenger school of thought football, passy-tippy-footy at all costs......and don't seem to have a plan B when either the weather or the opposition seem to stick the boot in. ...and Ian Evatt has NEVER done passy-tippy-footy. I am all for squad rotation, in a sensible and considered way, but having such momentous changes to a winning team must be confusing, especially when the changes aren't given time to make a difference. The Cardiff game I cannot comment on, it is the first game for years where I have not managed to view it or follow it in some way or another.......I was in Blackpool for the weekend!!!!!!!

you where in Blackpool and did not invite us all round for a drink! shocking. I really do think Osbourne can do gnashers job as long as he is not stuck with the crab.
after thinking about it for 24hrs i really do think Ludo is a luxury player that would actually do well in the premiership as he would have time on the ball something you don't get in the championship.
I would like to throw a wild card out there as well please can we have grandin on the right till you get Matty's head sorted Ian?

The benfit of squad rotation comes in the latter part of the season and its quite natural not ot have cohesion in the early stages. Ollie has put faith in his players to do a job but in the last couple of games has been let down. Ollie said last year that learning to defend set pieces was easy to put right and at the time he did. What I can't understand is why they've forgotten again. For me Its Gilks that should organise his defense and he needs to understand whats needed when it comes to corners and free kicks. He needs to be given the authority and responsability for keeping clean sheets. A kind of vice captain role. He needs to be more vocal before the set piece rather that when the ball has hit the net! Not worried yet though. Keep the faith!

With regards the midfield, we had this same discussion last year after the CP game if my memory serves me correctly, with the topic of Fergie and Gnashers playing together and how it didn't work and 90% of people wanted Gnashes in, instead of Fergie! For me sorry to say it but Fergie's finished in his legs, no drive forward, no forward pass and no forward thinking anymore with an eye for a goal he once had! We don't know what happens regular on daily basis on the training ground but i would feel much more comfortable with Robertson instead of Osbourne as i think as good a player as Osbourne is, i feel he slows down the pace of our attacks and thats our strength, don't get me wrong his defendings fine but Robertson has an all round package! what about Angel, Robertson and time for Grandin to step up and show us what he's got know, think Gomes needs a little time strengthening up in the gym and as said above we've seen very little of noguera, who Ollie was drooling over in the summer. Im in no way panicking and im sure Ollie will get the right balance at some point but feel he's still trying to work out his best side but when he does, normal service will be resumed!

my thoughts on the midfield :-
Angel - For me has to be the first name on the team sheet for midfield
Gomes - Has the skills but needs more physically, too easily bullied out of possesion
Osbourne - Has the workrate but little to show for it
Sylvestre - Has the skills, but seems to go MIA too often, maybe needs a run in the team to show what he can do
Grandin - Certainly has the ability, and, IMHO, a lot to prove, needs to be given a chance
Back Pass Barry - The less said the better as I've said it all before
Robertson - not seen enough to comment
Noguera - Never heard anything of him since he joined, the new Malaury Martin ?
Basham - Always struck me as having the physical presence we need in the midfield, maybe a stop-gap until we find a quality replacement for Gnasher
For me the midfield should be :-
Angel, Sylvestre/Grandin and, possibly Basham

How can you say Robertson should be in instead of Osbourne when we've not seen Robertson and Osbourne has been great so far?

Been great at doing what exactly ? Running around like a headless chicken ? Great workrate but haven't seen him produce anything useful yet . . . as for Robertson, can't comment as I haven't seen him yet . . .for me we should never have let Southern go

For me Osbourne looks comfortable on the ball, great tackler, strong and good distribution. What else do you need? Better than gnasher and fergie. Angel/Osbourne /Grandin

Osbourne is on a different planet to Southern.
He can actually play football and can pass more than two yards and in a forwards direction!

I think you mistook Southern and the woefully inept Back Pass Barry there Ted
