IAN Holloway has hinted at changes for Saturday’s trip to Cardiff City.
The Seasiders boss was unhappy following Monday’s defeat by Huddersfield and is expected to freshen things up at the weekend.
Spanish midfielder Angel Martinez and forward Matt Phillips are both in contention to return to the side.
Holloway said: “I’m going to have to utilise my squad now. We lost on Monday, so maybe I’ll give some others a chance now. All of my unused players will be looking for a game after watching that.”
It’s been a long week for the Seasiders, who are itching to put things right after failing to perform in front of the Sky TV cameras.
And while it’s good to have time on the training ground, Holloway admits he can’t wait for Saturday to come.
He admitted: “I wish I had another game today to put things right – I have a big enough squad here to do that.
“I think we are better than we showed on Monday. We have to prove that now by bouncing back.”
Pool are fourth in the Championship but Holloway knows consistency is needed to win promotion.
He added: “I’m fully aware of how difficult this Championship is going to be, and we have to be consistent to be anywhere neare the levels we want to be. We had played very well indeed but on Monday we dropped a level, and you can’t do that against someone as good as Huddersfield.
“I’d like to give their manager (former Pool boss Simon Grayson) credit – other people have tried to do that against us and we’ve always been a match for it.”

I think Gilks will be dropped for Saturday and Halstead brought in. Gilks has lost something the last few matches and doesnt now how to get rid of the ball quickly to set up an attack. His kicking from goalkicks is also suspect.

Don't think he will be dropped but your right he has over the last few matches lost his mojo when it comes to getting the ball out quickly very strange or maybe he does not fancy rolling or throwing it out to his back 4 at the moment

Can't see Gilks getting dropped for Halstead, maybe if we still had the Black Magic King
Main change I'd like to see is Angel & Ludo/Grandin for Ozzie and Back-Pass Barry

Think ozzie will start he plays a dam sight better when he is not having to run sideways and backwards to link up with old Krabby Patty

look, I may be being over sensitive, but do I just get the tiniest hint you aren't a BF fan, Sherl? LOL
Would like to see Angel back, Angel, Ossie and Gomes seemed to work early doors. And up front Matty, Fonzie and Thomas.

I just think he has to many average or bad games before we get a good one out of him and just think him and ossie work well together in fact i would say he hinders ossie game.
My ideal 3 would be angel gomes and ossie but I am only a fan lol and in ollie I trust
