Many of you will (vaguely) remember at the tail-end of the Sian-Grey-Keys furore, I posted an article about another female football official - our own Natalie Walker......
who referees in the West Lancs and Vodkat Leagues, and runs the line in the Conference and Evo-Stick Leagues.
She has now been honoured, and rewarded, with a place in the showpiece of women's football - the World Cup - in Germany in the summer. Being the first British official to be selected for this tournament - the 6th FIFA World Cup, which commences at Berlin's Olympic Stad and culminates at Frankfurt.
Natalie has also officiated at the women's UEFA Champions League Final between Frankfurt and Sweden's Umea, which was played in front of 28,000 spectators.
Ms Walker, who will fly out to prepare for the competition in mid-June, has also taken part in the last WC's official training camp.
Well Done and Good Luck.
YL.
