Having not been so well the last week, I finally caught up with all the news this morning and i see the farce that is FIFA have elected Sepp Blatter yet again.
and that we have basically sunk ourselves by being the only ones with any courage to stand up against him.
I think its time we took a firm stand and shoved 2 fingers in his face really and lets start with a simple thing that he does not want to do, Goal line tec.
Now we have the richest and most popular League in the world in the form of the premiership and Sky Broadcasting
Like they did with cricket Sky started using things like hawkeye and at first the powers that be, like Lords and the ICC did not want to use this tec, because they thought it would delay the game, spoil it etc.
But now it is common place in all internationals that sky cover as they have the tec and is being used more by other broadcasters as wel now.
So what is to stop the premier league using something similar straight away???
FIFA can not stop them and like cricket, in the end more and more people will follow the lead and then Blatter would not be able to ignore the issue anymore.
Also i think a new rule regarding the amount of terms you can be the head of FIFA should be put into place straight away.
When you have a major organizations Coke and Addias making statements raising concerns over the running of the governing body you know the whole thing is on the edge of a cliff

Sorry to hear you been crook, mate, hope you are fully recovered. Was planning to put something on myself about FIFA, so hope you don't mind me tagging it on You are right about the technology, and we should know!! The bit that really got me this morning was the comment by the Irish Represenative that he was more than willing to help the FA with replacing their represenattives, because of the way they came across. Emperor's new clothes comes to mind. Any insult from the Argies is always to be welcomed, and comments about our press and lies, have they not made the connection between suspensions, what those suspended have revealed to blacken others, and the truth. ( sorry to be backing the media, I'm sure it will wear off!!) Mind you, with all these alleged envelope bungs, you'd hardly expect the recipients to say anything other than status quo, cos they are coining it ( allegedly) Like the IOC 10 years ago, it has to be a total transformation, I think the analogy with north african and middle east presidents for life is an excellent one. Blatter lives so much in his own world, the FIFA dlegates are so used to being fawned over, that they have lost touch with reality. As you say, maximum terms, not just for president, but also for delegates. Pulling out of FIFA, personally, it would not bother me if we then did lose a lot of international stars, but, if SKY pulled the plug, how many of our teams would survive? Rock and a hard place

Personally I would like to push them off it. It really is a joke and has even got the Mrs shouting at the telly (out of character I might add! ) At the end of the day only the sponsors can get this sorted out and ultimatelly they will respond to their customers...us. Although the British Press are normally no better than pond life there a just a few occasions when you think "yeah go get 'em" and hope they chew the whole bunch up and spit them out. Rant over.

Strange that the head of the new FIFA ethics (haha) committee is also Swiss. It just goes on and on..
I honestly believe that the only reason Blatter was so overwhelmingly voted back in was because he was the only one that could keep a lid on all the corruption. All the other members were so scared of what might come out if he was outed.

Sepp Blatter was democratically re-elected by 186 sycophants who's pockets he has been lining for the past twelve years (and the 17 that didn't vote were presumably peeved because they haven't received their share).
Our FA who should have "people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones" tattoed as painfully as possible on their collective arses, have managed to piss off the lot of them and probably denied the home of football a world cup tournament way way past the end of my mortal coil.
The Premier League, the richest and therefore most powerful voice in football, have buried their head in the sand pretending that this doesn't affect them.
Nothing will change - even if it does it will just be a case of meet the new boss, same as the old boss ..
I'm starting to look forward to an entire season of gutter press free, honest Championship football ... UTMP!
