So we got beat, no big issue really as Ian is clearly just giving the boys a run out.. you can not expect to play what was a Oldham starting XI and get a result using over 26 different players.
of course AVFTT has gone into meltdown just for a change lol.
really pleased that billy scored will give him some confidence back in front of goal no DJ, not that shocking really hopefully this issue can get sorted this weekend one way or the other.
My only slight worry is we are going to have to play a lot of behind closed doors matches to keep people match fit during the season.

Seem to remember getting thrashed in pre season with minnows last year, didn't do too bad at the start of the season, did we? I'm afraid, slipping into grumpy old man mode, it is a sign of the times that some of our "fans" want perfection now, and if they don't get it, it's a Private Frazer. No Learning, no experimentation, no getting up to fitness, I want it all and I want it now.

Yes, Ye Olde - patience is a virtue, my friend, and over the past year or so, espec. around this time of year, quite a few of 'Pool's supporters don't seem to have a lot of it, methinks.
Personally, I couldn't give a monkey's what the score is, or was: the main thing is that players have got to work out tactics, get their playing-fitness up to scratch and gel with each other, and when else can they do that? Also, Wee Ollie has to have time to work on them all and make them into a coherent body of players in order to do the needful over the season.
I, Like many, Sandy being one?, isn't all that botherered with pre-season friendlies as they are only used to get the players working together the way he (IH) wants them, etc. etc.

I went yesterday, there were bad points and good points too, Defending for the first goal was poor, Eards is still backing off rather than keeping his winger out wide or closing him down. Thought an awful lot of passes went astray. I thought Grandin was neat with his play, still miss he would try and run with the ball now and again. First half build up was generally slow with no end product. Second half we were more positive Bojan, seemed to want the ball, in contrast to Bruna who, when he camne on, seemed to stay out wide waiting fit it. Their second fairly shot in not a lot Halstead could have done about it. Nice goal from Billy Clark need the end.
