Now, I know I'm a bit of a grumpy old man, and I know when we were young, we always thought our elders were no fun and complained a lot.
But why are so many people so unnecessarily rude?
The women in our neighbours Guest House who told her to f off at 2.30 in the morning when she found her lying in the hall
The bloke who couldn't be bothered to wait on the busy pavement, stepped straight in front of a car, and gobbed off at the poor shaking motorist who honked
The guests who accuse you of being dishonest when you ask them to settle the bill when they leave
The woman who swore at me when her dog attacked mine and I told her to pull it off
I'm sure you've all got your own, but how do we get people to start acting as a society again, instead of a group of selfish individuals? (just a little question, then lol)

I think if you are dealing with the general public you have to be a bit thick skinned YeOLDE, although saying that would have thought you were in an area of calm, with nice people and untroubled with the chavs of today. Many people just have no time, always in a hurry, have little care for anyone else and will do what they want even if it means upsetting others. Have you not been to a match and just when it gets exiting, injury time is shown and up they get to go, but instead of going they stand on the steps, blocking you view, they don't care a toss about those staying to watch the final moments.

Golden retrivers, Sherlock, one a venerable 12 plus, and the other an energetic 10 months.
I agree, Whit, I have got a pretty thick skin, grown through years of managing large teams, dealing with supermarket customers, et al, but it still gets to me sometimes. Them bxxxxx standing on the steps at a game got to me last season when I had several games isle ticket in the N, when there was all the bother about early leavers
As for the Lakes being an area of calm with nice people, Bowness on a Saturday night is just like every other town in the UK for drink related problems, and Windermere is the only place I've actually seen someone being given his daily methadone! We take the aforementioned dogs out early every day, and the streets are strewn with bottles, cans, vomit, chip papers, till the businesses open up and clean up, and the roadsweeper comes.

Maybe in a years time when my dog has calmed down a bit might have to book for a few days as your one of the few that allows dogs
if you think people standing on the steps blocking your view is bad you should try sitting on the front row directly behind goal in the south stand. a few choice words have already been exchanged this season with the idiots that all gather and stand in front of me and my lad lol
and its normally my lad that say move first

Don't you find its all starting much younger though these days, working in school and nursery none of the kids seem to be coming in with manners, they don't know how to sit at a table to eat and when you say to parents that"little Johnny" has done x,y z, the parent then sticks up for said kid and basically we in the wrong. Sorry rant over lol, but it does get my back up xxx

Agree Ali, we get some kids in with great manners, and some whom the parents allow to run riot ( the missus has a fierce stare at Breakfast in the mornings to stop the little blighters!) When my kids were young, if they misbehaved or were noisy, they were taken out so as not to bother others, now if you complain, as you said, you are the one at fault.

Must admit i am rather stern some would say strict with my kids if they forget their manners when out or even at home.
one thing that gets on my nerves is the way text speak is used in a conversation i must correct my two everyday it really gets on my nerves, its just plain lazy.
