7.40 a item your having a fooking laugh.
yes i am on one just been to docs today and told i had to have some new drugs yum yum so of i trot to the chemist to get them and hand over 22.20 of my pennies for them.
because i had forgot to renew my pre paid prescription card even though i can claim it back i got to wondering how much the drugs really cost so i looked on the prescription drug cost list.
okay their are some drugs that cost a lot but not many as you look down the list the total cost of all my drugs was a staggering 1.40 and a further 1.20 which is what the chemist gets for dispensing them so grand total cost 2.60
so where the fook does the other 19.60? go and its not the NHS
rant over

The excess money probably goes towards the costs for those that do not have to pay, ie, OAP'S, those on benefit, those underage, there are probably millions exempt from charges, it's probably a balancing act by government.

It is balanced with the drugs, eg cancer drugs, which can cost tens of thousands per year.
What makes my blood boil is that, because of the settlement per head for England Wales and Scotland set back in the 1970's, Scotland and now Wales can afford to have no prescription charges, whereas we have this £7 plus per item, not even per prescription.
