Most of you probably feel pzzed off enough without me giving you a rundown on the match, but as you are probably aware, other than the first 10 mins when we looked as though we could get a good result the rest of the time we just didn't click. I did feel sorry for Hill, when he kept jumping for high balls with Carew he only came up to the underside of the big mans arms, a puzzle as to why he was playing up against him in the first place. Hammers do have a good few tall guys and hoofing the high ball up was a complete waste of time, what has happened to our Spanish passing along the ground game. There was an odd moment of humour in the 2nd half when Baps kicked the corner flag in frustation and it snapped in two, but frustration had set in, you could see it on the faces of the team, it is a game to forget and hope we can turn around the next two home matches, Keep positive, the team needs us.

just a bad day at the office thats all it will happen, but i really do not understand why hill played in the middle of the back four, when we could have move baps to the middle which might have been more useful as him and evo have played in that role before.
just a bad day but i refuse to be down and join the moaning brigade that are out with their knifes just for a change

You may be right that its not the time to shout and scream, although some may
disagree with me.
However, perhaps if we look back at a few of the games there is cause for concern.
Hull - we were lucky not to concede in the second half.
Ipswich - same as above.
Bristol City - did the score line reflect the game?
I could comment on the other games but I think we all understand the point.
Whether or not a team plays with tall strikers or play hoofball we have to adapt to
what is in front of us, we all know how John Carew will play and its not the first
time West Ham have played hoofball.
The upcoming two home games are vital and perhaps may decide how we go
forward for the remainder of the season.
Whatever your views are clearly there are issues to be resolved on and off the
field, lets hope IH can find the necessary answers and quick.

its a long season and is going to take a while for things to gell, i agree the bristol game did not really give a true reflection of the match.
Personally i don't think matt hill is right for us but he pulls on a tangerine shirt so will get my support every time, it is going to be hard to bounce straight back to the prem, we might scrape into the play offs who knows but lets not let one result get everybody down.
up the pool

Well said Whits , Sherlock and Gulf! Ok here we go, Firstly like said above it's one result but as we are an attacking team and easy on the eye does this not detract from our defensive frailties that to be honest have been their for a while, in the Prem and now the Championship! Since Ollie has or is re-moulding the side i have to honest we as a team have become more cautious but my question is if our attacking side of the game goes pear shaped we are putting more pressure on the back four in the system we play and this will clearly hurt us in the end, but when everything clicks with the attacking abilities teams will naturally back off and our back four are not as exposed. I know swings and roundabouts and thats football but what im saying is whether we play home or away or who the opposition is dictates how you set up and who plays. Anyway im waffling now, the next 2 games will see what were about and i for one am in a confident mood. Cmon the Pool

No, you're not waffling, Rob; just saying it as you rightly see it. Whilst I've only been able to attend one (home) match this season - our two-nil win against Ipswich last month - - Now, I'm a fine one to talk, ain't I?but going by what I've read on here and in the media, I think the general concensus will be with Whit, Sher, Gulf, and Rob. As the latters states, 'Pool are now in the 'a work in progress' stage, what with the mainstays of the team gone (Charlie A, et al) and a whole raft of newcomers slotting in here and there, which obviously takes time to gel, and take in Ollie's way of playing the game. As for the back four, Evo and Baps are our rock in that area, so why 'change it if it ain't broke' scenario? As for the 'moaning brigade' (quote, Sher), let's leave that to elsewhere - we seem to look at, and take, a more realistic view here on Proboard. ( At least I think so!) Let's look forward to the games (and wins) against Donny and the Florists ('meets' in the offing) and will somebody kindly enlighten me as to what is wrong with WWLDDWDLDWL at this stage of our season, considering the changes made to the squad. We've only lost 3 games in the league, ffs! YL.
