If I remember correctly, there was some discussion (like that of Arnold > KEQMS) on the topic of the Camii on Waterloo Road, Ooops, Sorry! 'Mosque' to youse. (force of habit).
I received this e-mail from Blackpool Council this morning which is self-explanatory:
Dear Mr & Mrs Yenilira APPLICATION NUMBER: alpha, bravo, charlie, delta, echo. Please quote this number on all correspondence.
Proposal: Use of premises as place of worship (Mosque) and community/education centre with three ancillary self-contained flats at first floor level and an education/event hall to the rear with associated parking.
Location: 189 - 199 WATERLOO ROAD, BLACKPOOL, FY4 2AE
You made comments on the above application and I can inform you the proposal was considered on 28/11/2011 . The decision and imposed conditions and/or reasons are as follows.
Decision Refuse
Conditions/Reasons 1 The uses proposed would generate a demand for car parking which could not be met by provision within the application site and, as such, this would lead to additional on street car parking in the area which would be detrimental to highway and pedestrian safety. As such the proposed uses on the application site and in this location would be contrary to Policy
AS1 of the Blackpool Local Plan 2001-2016. ......
Thoughts?
YL.

Object, actually, Sher. Now, if it had been on the other side of the St.Annes Road/Waterloo Rd crossroads, opposite where the barber's is, then I may not have objected so much, as there is better/proper parking facilities at that point. (Already is, or was, a church of some description at that site - Pentegostal?) Now, what the f*** would I want with another camii in my life when I get wakened at 5 every morning I'm over there? YL. YL.

When there's one to the left of me, one to the right, another to the front, and one behind - it certainly is! Don't need earthquakes to make the buildings tremble and they all seem to start one second after each other, so......
