I had the usual socks and hankies, chocs, drink and a kiss from the mrs, what did you lot get. Sounds as though Yeni had been given a book on the US Air Force.

Aye, Sher, but do these 'books' tell you anything...? like - "who was the last British player to score for a Spor Toto Lig. side this year" ? or'the literati who lived in the Mearns' ?

p.s. Good quiz question, that last one.
Worth saving even just for its historic value.

So, looking at the few above - only seven of us - who got prezzies off Santa - there must be a lot of naughty boys and girls on this board, then. April - pardon me asking, but you're not yet married? If not, did you pop the question, then?

Yes, but I am still not sure what you do with a rubber duck!
On another subject, would you Sherlock or anyone else like some old books. My sister is relocating to live in Scotland, as she loves it so much and will not have the room for 4/5oo books she has at present. They range from Shakespeare and Dickens through to political figures such as Geoffrey Howe and knowing her plenty of left wing authors. She cannot spare the time to list them, which I suggested she did, but if anyone has any interest I could drive over to Maidstone and take a look for you. Will probably go over for my monthly visit next week sometime and the following Saturday will be at Ipswich if anyone is down there. There are no first additions before you ask.

Thanks most awfully, Whit, but no thanks.
We've got quite a few paper/hard backs ourselves in Blackpool, together with a couple of hundred in Alanya, and my wife just got a Kindle for Christmas (from me).
And I've got a cupboard stacked with same. (books and maps, tourist info pamphlets, etc., that is).
If the worse comes to the worse, could I respectfully suggest a Car Boot?

Correct on both counts Yeni
and I did get a present off Santa . . . .
. . . . 6 pieces of cardboard !!!
But to be fair, it's my own fault for asking for an ex-box

Uh, oh. We've got another 'birth saga' a la 'Mighty' at Wembley! Congrats to to both (and, eventually, three), Colombian. What are you hoping for - boy or girl? By the way, anyone know the whereabouts, and personage, of 'Mighty' from Wembley?
