I'm sorry call me a sentimental old fool but when Brett put the third one in tonight my heart nearly burst. The third against Spurs to make the score 3.0 on a night that will live forever in my memory when my little old Pool played in a way an old Pooler could only dream of,that was fantastic! Who had a bad game........you are having a laugh, every single one put in a fabulous shift and to pick out one person for mom would be churlish,i could make a case for all of them. If pushed however I would go for Baps, the best £5,000 quid we ever spent!"You'll never beat Baptiste" was what I kept thinking and I believe he showed what a class act he is. Evo and Cathy where like the rock of Gibraltar all night and Eards was right back to his best. Midfield was running like a well oiled machine for long periods of the game Ludo,Charlie and Vaughny moving about to create a really dynamic midfield that looked as if it could spring the trap at any moment. Up front a really different feel to it with DJ,the henchman and Betty posing a very different threat to the one we have got used to seeing, but what a difference loads more power, and I must say Betty was a proper handfull ,what a good signing he could turn out to be. The subs well when Gnashers and Brett appeared I could hear Teds old typewriter getting hot but every one of them did their bit.Matty was really mature running the ball into the corners when we needed time,Gnashers broke up the play in midfield and Brett ....well!! Overall........I'm like a dog with two dicks. I did suggest to Dylan that actually I died five years ago and this is all some crazy dream! He's still thinking about it! I will always remember today as the day Brett went from being a Blackpool hero to a Blackpool Legend doing something that dreams are made of. Up the Pool

So jealous of all you lucky people who were there !! LOL
When I saw Brett had got the third, jumped about, punching the air, giving it a few "yes"' s. What a superstar, has anyone ever scored for the same team in all divisions? Seems unlikely, few teams do it in one players career. And Gnasher on too, the Mighty Pool holding out against a magnificent Spurs side.
It keeps getting better and better, Ollie, you are beyond a magician.
Come on the Pool, come on the Pool

What a game what a night.. Fortress Bloomfield ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D besides the opening game of the season last night has to be one of the best performances given by the boys this season. yeah the papers are full of spurs inability to put the ball into a open net but in the second half i witnessed bodies being put on the line like never before ... So pleased for omergod the monkey is off his back now, reminded me of the playoff final as he ran onto the loose ball.. and i wonder what ted has to say this morning seeing that it was gnasher that started the move that got us the third goal. great night, fantastic game, vocal support and 3 points bring on wolves

I thought I saw it all against United, but no another superb TEAM performance, not only for our attacking but for the magnificant defending. Very pleased for Brett and doubt very much if Ted will give credit to Keith for winning the ball and passing to matt to start the ball rolling for the goal, but without doubt a great result. I wouldn't normally pick out any one player and may sound unfair given what the team achieved last night but DJ just never stopped running, his energy is unbelievable and an inspiration to any youngster watching. So, when you think they cannot do any better along comes a performance that tops the best we thought we had already seen. I see the Wolves gaffer was at Bloomfield last night, wonder what his team talk will be after seeing that performance and talking of Wolves would very much like to see the basis of last night 's team take to the field on Saturday with as few changes as possible, last year the run in to the season's end in terms of team stability helped enormously.

I'm still gobsmacked.......The Independant had Baps down as MOM but for me......and yes it is for sentimental reasons....I would have given it to "Super Bretty Ormerod" purely for the fact of having scored for us at every level.....I suspect it's a unique achievement (Stato?.......oh sorry.......I meant.....Yeni?) and one which is highly unlikely ever to be achieved by anybody else. A true "moment in history"! I Blacpool

That's as maybe Sherlock but I didn't feel he had a very good game last night......seemed to be over hitting the majority of his passes and anyway, we're far from being a one man team! Yes, he'll be missed but it's not a disaster....Vaughny will step up to the plate and Elliot will come back in to fill the void.
Come on the 'pool!

I was about to post just after Mickyg's post but was disturbed. Up until that point, I was going to say that these are my first words of the day - I'm still gob-smacked at that performance by the lads! Does it beat the two games against Looserpool? It's certainly up there. Was it any better that the first halves against Citeh and Man. United? Certainly surpasses the Wigan game, that's for sure. Can it get any better? Yes it can! Micky - yes, your assumption is correct: Brett is the only player to have scored a goal in all four league divisions for the club. I remember reading a while back (last year?) on the Club website that he referred to that scenario but qualified it by saying that the main thing was the 'Pool getting three points in whatever game it was. ...and it stopped Spurs getting into the 'big four' placings in the league. Wonder what our old friend "Crainey/Spurs" from 606 would have made of it all? Fantastic result, and didn't I say yesterday that they were getting back into the groove starting with the Villa game? Yes, I did. YL.

I know it's unique for our club Yeni but I wondered if it was unique for any other player for any other club? I still suspect it is.

I cannot find anything to dispute Brett's record of a goal for the same club in all 4 divisions, but....... Robert Earnshaw has scored a hat-trick in the Premiership, championship, league 1, league 2, the league cup, the F A cup and for his country (Wales). Doesn't qualify that by stating 'for one club' as we all know he has had a few teams on his CV. On that basis, and I'm sure the 'Pool website will come out with something soon.. Brett's record is at it stands - and I have no reason to doubt: 'a goal in all four divs for the same club' Congratulations, lad. Another Legend. YL. p.s. Sher - sorry, your post was on it's way while I was still keying-in. p.p.s. Is that your new name for Brett - 'Omer God' ?

Been doing a wee bit of digging and found a few others: Jenkins for Watford scored goals in all four divisions, as did Davis for Fulham, but the chap BigJohn is thinking about is Ashbee for Hull. Haven't checked if those three have done it in the 'old first' division and/or the Prem., as well as the 2nd, 3rd & 4th, but that's splitting hairs. I know it is now redundant, but for what's it worth: Wiki: Cork's contribution to the team helped Wimbledon climb the football league pyramid and eventually gained them entry into the First Division, playing in every division of the Football League in the process. But it doesn’t say what that contribution was at that point in the blurb, but looking at his ‘Player Stats’, the record is borne out by the fact that he did play, and score in all four divisions for the Wombles. (Cork played for them from 1977/78 to 1992). Again, I haven't had a chance to look into the fact that he could be the first. So, taking the above into account, and as far as we at Blackpool are concerned :- Brett is the first, and only, player to score in all four divisions for Blackpool. YL. p.s. If you really want to know who was the first to achieve that record, you're gonna have a helluva rooting round. p.p.s. 'Stato' strikes again.....

I have to say, when I just watched that, as he put the ball in against Spurs, I just tingled all over and a little tear came to my eye! Brett will always be a hero at the 'pool and as a scruffy wee urchin, perhaps we should name the scruffy wee shed after him?

Worth a thought that, Micky. #ok#
'singing in the rain' is a bit outdated, likewise 'open golf' and 'sound of silence' doesn't do anything for me, so we need something to reflect recent 'Pool history?
YL.
