I guess its up to me to complete the 4 points of the compass.
firstly, it was nice to put more faces to names in F&Bs before the game. so hi to Yeolde, Micky andYtyke.
Like everyone else I was somewhat surprised to see Evo was not palying, also didnt expect Reid, I did say to Dylan walking from the pub that I wouldnt be surprised with Carney starting.
We started very well with Reid lively , I did think we tried to bring him into the game more than necessary though, and he did have a great attempt tipped over by Green. Sadly the start didnt last the same as Reid impact, Charlie was subdued and I think he is carrying a knock, every week he goes down with his ankle. Reid would be better as backup to Charlie not alongside, they are too similar.
The cockneys got into the game after 10 mins or so and we really looked ragged, even from low down in the North, Kingson fumble was clear to see, I wasnt surprised to see them score again, this time Kingson made 2 great saves before Kerane scored, I cant help thinking that Evo would have cleared the danger before the 2rd shot though.
All season I have been trying to film a goal and I finally managed it with Charlies effort, very strange goal definitely an element of luck involved. I would have been happy with 1-2 at the break but sadly they immediately got a third, how many times as that happened this season?
so 2nd hald and Evo was on but sadly instead of Cathcart who has a hamstring, hope its not serious.
We did have more purpose and I was convinced we had equalised with Eardleys free kick, but alas no. So 2 more subs and we continued to attack but from where I was sat it looked like balls were going into the box with no one getting near them.
WHU still mounted attacks and there was a lovely bit of skill by Piquionne around the edge of our box which fortunaterly came to nothing.
At the end of the day WHU closed things down quicker than us, however the did seem to get away niggly fouls with a lot more than we did.
It was terrible to see so many people leaving the ground early, ok we were 3-1 down but that is no excuse, by the end oof the game there were only 4 people left on my row. The players dont trot off to the dressing early so why do fans feel the need to leave.
So we are now in the enevitable bad patch, how we (players, bacvkroom staff and fans) react will determine whether or not we stay up
Keep believing
