For the younger members Saturdays result and performance may have come as a bit of a to the system,be warned this is not unusual. Days of pure joy are more the exception than the rule, though the last few years have been more ups than downs hopes raised and then dashed are more the norm and Saturday was one of those. At the end of the game I was reminded of a period about the same time last year when our hopes had yet again been built up by a last gasp winner against Watford and that little feeling that we could possibly still make the playoffs was still whispered. We followed this with a draw three losses and a draw, that's it then we all thought chance gone. Depression set in again as we looked back once more at another false dawn and the familiar picture of "if only" we'd signed this player or made that sub or.............you get the picture. We then went on our final run as each game passed and we kept getting results as others dropped points again we started to think "could it". So off to Newcastle we went hope having been replaced by expectation, this is it the final push.I don't think I need to remind anyone the score that day or the performance!Loads of posts on 606 saying that's it we've blown it, players not good enough,no fight, bad team selection,Ollies losing it!!! Didnt work out that way did it? So to those that are down in the dumps this grey Monday. Remember Roller-coasters have downs as well as ups.

Thought you were going to say something about 'elf and safe tea' looking at the heading but you're right, there, John. Us 'golden oldies' have seen it all, and it's the younger ones that I worry for, as many have not been thru the 'dark days' and sampled life before Yeovil and the 1st Division. This will always be 'the greatest trip I've been on.' And dare I say it again- I was one of those 20,000+ that saw Matthews play at Bloomfield Road. YL.

Did it float, or just go 'clunk' at the bottom of the ocean?

Not to distressed by Saturday's result, every club has a bad result occasionally ( away to the barcodes last season, springs to mind)
And it'll just make taking the 3 points next Monday that little bit more special
To quote the Special Ones closing sentence of his autobiography . . . .
As we say in Blackpool . . . "Let's Rock"

Even though I'm not able to make it, I'm still looking forward to a good performance from the lads on Saturday. YL.

Thanks, Sher - got a few things mixed up with work - Hope I haven't sent someone to Alanya on Monday by mistake, instead of Saturday! YL.
