Sky Sports News understands Blackpool are in talks with Zenit St Petersburg striker Sergei Kornilenko.
Ian Holloway has been working hard on transfer deadline day to bolster his ranks, with Andy Reid already snapped up from Sunderland.
It is expected that Rangers striker Craig Beattie will follow him through the doors, as the Seasiders look to add extra experience to their ranks.
Both of those recruits will also bring a considerable attacking threat, but Holloway is not prepared to stop there.
He is also closing on Kornilenko, who is a Belarus international currently plying his trade in Russia.
The 27-year-old is on the books of Zenit, but has also turned out for Dinamo Minsk, Dynamo Kiev and Rubin Kazan.
It is understood that Kornilenko is in England for talks regarding a move to Bloomfield Road, with a medical and personal terms hoping to be pushed through before the window slams shut at 11pm.
Keeps the pot boiling if nothing else.

looks and sounds evil hope he does not scare dj Kornilenko is a regular member of the Belarus national football team, earning his first cap in 2004. He is currently in 6th place among the top scorers for his national side. On 8 October 2010, Kornilenko was sent off during the second half of the 0:0 away draw against Luxembourg in a Euro 2012 qualifier for dangerous foul play (before that he had been close to breaking the deadlock, hitting the post with a powerful effort). another clip of him vodpod.com/watch/4276419-sergey-kornilenko-v-spartak-moscow
