Don't know if it escaped your notice, or..... but 'Our Charlie' has been 'consorting with the enemy' ........ when he was Guest of the Sponsors at Fylde's recent game at the Woodlands, where they beat Caldy (5th in the 'National Two North') by 55 points to 29, in a 13-try scoring spree. This win cements their position at the top of the league. I'm sure, though, CA would have been impressed with the style in which the hosts won, with some magnificent attacking play, hard graft, superb runs at the opposition, exceptional attitude, spirit, and drive. Reminiscent of a team that plays at Bloomfield Road? It will be noted that Jason Robinson has been to watch the Seasiders, and, to quote the homesters Coach, Mark Nelson, "The Fylde Coast is buzzing at the minute in terms of sport and I would like a situation where we can learn from each other and feed off each other." What's your opinion on this? YL.

Lytham is the place to be. Recent sporting legends seen supping at the bar in the Taps are as follows Freddie Flintoff Jona Lumo (sorry if this is spelt wrong) Regulars are Billy Beaumont Stephen Hendry. During the Open its full of the worlds best too and the pub has a grass floor! Oh and Ollie takes the whole team to the Lytham Kitchen for a fry up every now and then. Went to watch Fylde when there was no footy and it was fantastic fun. Jason Robinson was like a whippet/bull dog cross. The match was great ...really physical and fast. You can watch from the bar or take a pint with you to the stand. The guy on the gate let my Son in for free so it cost us £10.00 to get in. He just rounded everything down to a price he though would be about right!!! Oh and don't tell the missus but there is plenty of quality in the young ladies dept too so even if you don't like the game there's plenty to see.

I used to play for Fylde back in the 70's until I was stupid enough to tackle Wade Dooley the 6'7" 17stone Blackpool copper who was playing for Grasshoppers........my shoulder's never been the same!

It's a game!! bloody hell thats news to me.I always thought it was an excuse for blokes with too much testosterone to make up for the fact they had small willies by beating the shit out of each other. All within the rules old boy dont you know.

"Legalised Mugging" is what I call rugby....... ;D
though I'm more partial to League rather than Union if I was pushed to it.
Have watched 'The Wire' on a number of occasions in my misspent youth.
YL.

never had a problem with Rugby (unless it's that 13 a side abomination) having played at school, until they realised I was useless.
But if I want to watch a real tough guys sport, it'll have a puck rather than a ball . . . . but not the emaciated version they play over here
