I knew the 'Gers were having problems, but not to this extent. It'll be a sad day if it all happens. Our Charlie's hometown team are still going, albeit with a 25 point deduction, an' a'. YL. p.s. Where is & what was "Oh dear (1)" ?

Missed that one as I was over there then. I'll have a look.

If they do go tits-up, would that invalidate any "sell on" clause for Charlie

Gers wont go bust, noway on earth will they fold. How many teams in the past that are high profile been in same situation? NONE ever went bust.

They do need to sort out the way they play in Scotland maybe loosing a division and making the remain ones bigger as it must get rather boring to play the same team 4 times a season

For all those interested in the Teddybears, is of a Bluenose persuasion, or 'Ibrox-Minded', even... things are not as black as they are painted.
Fair enough, the Craig Whyte proposed take-over must be about the longest and most drawn-out in history .....it was supposed to have been a done deal Christmas last, then it was to happen this Friday....granted, it has been on the go for quite a while, but the hold-up, in paparazzi-speak, is a thing called 'due diligence', but that doesn't help the present management team of Walter Smith and Ally McCoist in their attempts to plan for next season.
What if you had a few bob - say, around £30million - you would want to know the ins and outs of a duck's arse before fully committing yourself and such a sum in a football venture, irrespective of history and nature etc of any club, wouldn't you?
It was revealed yesterday that Rangers actually made a trading profit of just over £23million , all in the last year and a half.
Additionally, £13million worth of bank debt has been cleared whilst £9million in relation to player transfers has also been paid off.
It must also be noted that Rangers have the status in Scotland as have Man. United in England - as far as the BBC goes -
there's just a slight touch of anti-Rangers bias in their reporting.

30 million is nothing to some of the people that invest in football, I think the problem is trying to rebuild the squad to compete in champions league and with that comes the wages required to get people to go to rangers

Good point, Sher, but don't forget this is Scotland (and Rangers) we are talking about, not some top-half English Prem club who can attract squillions of wonga ......
and have the the likes of Sky to promote the club around the world. The days of mega bucks being spent on Scottish league teams like as in the 70s and 80s have now long gone, sadly.

Sherlock, replaceing Champions league with Premier league and Rangers with Blackpool in your recent comment might just ring true.

Thats why Ranger and Celtic are so desperate to jump ship, just the Prem dont want them, unless they bring bags of cash with them.

Personally speaking, I think it will be the likes of Sky and other media outlets that have the say in Rangers and Celtic coming south..........
