Don't get a very clear picture of events unlike being at the ground, so would like to ask this question to those that were present. 2ND half we are getting at the opposition, we score and close to getting even when Varney is substituted, was he injured, if not why bring on a sub at that particular time. I wondered why Phillips didn't come on when Varney went off, jnow I know Varney isn't quite clicking at the mo, but he does cause a defence problems with his pace.

well i have just got back from the game and i really enjoyed it even though we lost 3-1 regarding varney could not tell you if he picked up a knock or not, but i think he just ran out of steam.
we keep playing like that and we will stay up as a lesser team will suffer against us

even though we scored the keeper should have been sent off before the goal, the ref was having a mare could not make his mind up about anything and gave 3 drop balls very strange

New tactic, lie around the ball, protesting you are being kicked, and get a drop ball ( 3 in one game, never seen anything like it) Should have been obstruction, indirect free kick each time Much better by the Pool, unlucky not to get at least one more, want to see it again on the telly, cos some decisions looked poor, but was quite low down so not a brill view. Hot as last May in the North, great to see Sandgrown'un and his lovely daughter at halftime, place was rocking today. Play like that next week and we stand a chance.

I do wonder what would have happened if he'd given the penalty ?
2-2 and I reckon we have rocked them that much we'd have gone on to win
Also, if the ref could play 2 advantages in the lead up to our goal then go back and book Wilshire for the first offense, how come he didn't send Lehmann off for blatantly taking the player out when there were no defenders around ?

Like Ye Olde says, three (?!!!) drop-balls was something very unusual, odd, for one game.
Thought we started off very well - "brightly" would be a good description from the papers - and we showed them what's what in the first 15 min or so, and I thought we'd score.
0-2 down at ht but still in with a chance.
If we'd made it 2-2 it might have been a different ball-game.
Yes, it was a good shout for a penalty by the ref........?
Yes, the place was rocking - sounded great, and the best I've heard this year.
I'm not certain about Varney's substitution, could have been a bit knackered? but Southern had a good game, eh, Ted?
From 0-6 at their place to 1-2 just after ht here shows how far we've come - we won't face teams of Arsenal's calibre every week.
Thought their third was well constructed, but if we play like this for the rest of the month, we shoul pick up 6 points, min.
Lehman is noted for that, April, though AW 'didn't see it'........
Enjoyable game, and not downhearted at all.
Bring on the rest of the month.

Sat outside F&B's in the lovely sunshine and had a couple of pints after a nice breakfast. The atmosphere around that area was fantastic. Its always good to see people happy. A guy near me said it was a must win game and I totally disagreed with him. I mentioned that I had been watching our beloved Blackpool for over fifty years and here I was sat in the sunshine, enjoying the ambience before going to the ground to watch them play a team like Arsenal. Live for the day I said and enjoy it. Judging by the nods and mumurs around me an awful lot of others were doing just that. Right, thats my philosophical head off,,,lol. I enjoyed the game, who wouldnt, and with a little luck we could have come away with a point maybe but it was just a great experience being there and seeing OUR ground rocking. It was good to see Ye Olde again and all in all it was one of those days where you couldnt be too disappointed even though we lost. Really looking forward to Wigan and hopefully the three points.

Agreed, around me there were a few people disappointed that we were lost 3-1 to the 2nd place team in the top division in England. I would rather be losing to the Gunners than losing to Grimsby.
The real bonus of the weekend was WWW. all losing, with WW playing good quailty competition next week a win against the remaining W will give us a little bit of daylight and allow us to play Newcastle and Stoke with less fear.
I believe if we win next Sat we will stay up if we lose we will go down.
