Just wish they could get it right it's not bloody orange grrrrrr
A fever has been spreading throughout a small African nation – but this time it is a tangerine one.
Blackpool fans have been growing in numbers among students in Malabo, Equitorial Guinea – a country sandwiched between Cameroon and Gabon in central Africa.
The newfound support came after local man, Alan Richardson – who works in the country as a teacher – told his students he supported the Seasiders.
And since Blackpool gained promotion to the Premier League, his pupils have been queuing up to get a piece of the action.
Kevin Allitt, a resort businessman and friend of Mr Richardson, said: “Several of Alan’s students go with him to watch the games at the local sports centre or on the internet.
He added: “The amount of support for the team there is now overseas is amazing.
“Blackpool fans seem to have gone global.
“There seems to be quite a lot of support in that area of Africa now, since some of his students started supporting Blackpool.
“It’s magnificent to see fans so far away.”
With fans now firmly established in Africa, we could start seeing an orange revolution – from the jungles of Cambodia to the sprawling cities of China.
The team already has many fans in far-flung Australia with many supporters making mammoth trips to see the Seasiders for last year’s Play-Off final at Wembley Stadium in London.
