Just done the predictor on the BBC website giving us a win against Bolton and Stoke and a draw at Man Utd. It has us going down on 41 points on goal difference by 1 goal.
This hammered home to me just how tight it is going to be this year, do people think that it will be decided on goal difference this year?

If we get wins against Stoke and Bolton, i believe we won't need a point against Spurs or Man Utd, i still think 40 pts will keep us up, but a bonus point at Spurs will be more than welcome just to make sure goal difference is not an issue. The Stoke game now though is the biggest of the season as anything less than a win now will hit confidence and the lads will know then they have the world on their shoulders and the pressure could prove too much. But knowing Blackpool like i do we will probably beat Spurs and Man Utd away and drop points at home but still be safe. At the start of the season i would of taken where we are with 4 games left and you only have too look down the other end of the m55 to realise things are not all that bad.

Yes, it could all go to the wire on the final day, but like Big John, I sincerely hope not - we should get a couple of wins before going to OT.
Looking at the fixtures for the bottom 5 teams, it is too close to call, really:
(16th) Blackburn on 35 points, goal difference of -15. .. 30/4 (h) Bolton .. 7/5 (a) West Ham .. 14/5 (h) Man Unt. 22/5 (a) Wolves.
(17th) Blackpool with 34 points and a gd of -22. .. 30/4 (h) Stoke .. 7/5 (a) Spurs .. 14/5 (h) Bolton .. 22/5 (a) Man Unt.
(18th) Wigan on 34 points, goal diff of -23. .. 30/4 (h) Everton .. 7/5 (a) Villa .. 15/5 (h) West Ham 22/5 (a) Stoke.
(19th) Wolves with a game in hand on 33 points, gd - 23. .. 26/4 (a) Stoke L .. 1/5 (a) Brum .. 8/5 (h) WBA .. 14/5 (a) Sunderland .. 22/5 (h) Blackburn.
(20th) West Ham with 32 points, goal diff -22. .. 1/5 (a) Man City .. 7/5 (h) Blackburn .. 15/5 (a) Wigan .. 22/5 (h) Sunderland.
Apart from hoping that Blackburn can help us out here - they play two of the three teams below us -
it's certainly squeaky bum time!
One interesting fact I noticed is that Blackpool have set a new Prem League record of 17 matches for both scoring and conceding in the same home game........
YL.

If we finish same points same goal difference as any of those teams apart from Wigan we finish below them due to the head to head results.

Thanks, April - post suitably amended. Must be 'cause I've got Wigan on the brain... if Wigan do this, we're.... if Wigan do that, we're....... YL.

Well at least Stoke did us a favour last night on the points and goal difference accounts.

Yes they did,and with the loss of Etherington for Saturday and Fuller out you have to hope he rests a few against us. Dont want to risk them with the cup final coming up Tony not now you are definitely safe you know. Might be an idea to remind every Stoke player how close the cup final is every time one gets near you on Saturday,I will.

You know what guys i've done the maths too and my head is starting to hurt. I've decided to just enjoy the last four games regardless and just hope we get the chance to do it all again next year in the top flight. If we don't then c'est la vie and we can look forward to next season. One thing for sure is that we will continue to play the most entertaining football I can remember at Bloomfield and every player has given us 100% and some fantastic memories. I actually think we will do it as the players are under less pressure than the other teams and there is no doubt that they still have the desire to prove the pundits wrong. I'm expecting the unexpected including a win at OT.
