After today's goalless draw v Stoke, i don't think i need to tell anyone that it is a blow and going to be an uphill struggle but 3 points at Spurs next Saturday and a point today is not that bad. I know everyone including myself was banking on 6 pts from the final 2 home games as the 2 away fixtures are going to be even tougher, but fellow tangerines here's a reason to be cheerful, Spurs have Gomes in goal hopefully and i think he's worse than our very own Steve McIlhargy was, and if Man C win tomorrow Spurs top 4 finish is all but over and hopefully a few of their lads will have their minds on their holidays, then theirs Bolton nothing to play for but pride but again looking to their holidays with prem footy next season, would they really want to send a fellow Lancashire side down , one less derby! Then the big one Man U, if they've wrapped up the title before we visit Trafford of Manchester and they reach the champions league final, which they should will Fergie send out his strongest side with the final only a few days later(not saying their reserves are no good but...) we are Blackpool and we don't do straightforward and love to defy the odds because thats who we are and thats what we do and fellow tangerines none of these thoughts of what ifs and maybes are going to keep us up FACT!!!! but were still in there fighting and its not over till its over, so keep the faith anf keep behind everything that is Blackpool Football Club. I feel quite emotional now off for a beer or 10

Couldn't get down today, so had to make do with dodgy internet. We desperately wanted 3 points, but Stoke had beaten Bolton 5 - 0 recently, so a point isn't bad. Some of the Stoke play was brutal, kicking CA in the back of the head after sandwiching him to the ground should have got a straight red, didn't even get a telling off. I used to think Stoke's rep was cos they were another smaller team challenging the big guys, no more after that today, I can well understand why Ollie sent Kornie on to give 'em some. CA hasn't performed at his best recently, but yesterday I have no doubt their gameplan was to kick him at all opportunities. Our defense was awsome, best display I've seen against some big hard guys, EVO is my Man of the Match and of the season. I think Crainey is getting better too. Fat lady not warming up yet, bout time we got a bit of luck

When I got up Saturday morning and it was blowing a gale I feared the worst, just couldn't imagine us being able to play our normal game against what we all knew was going to be a big strong Stoke Team. Unfortunatly I feel I was right on both counts. Stokes back four especialy Shawcross and Huth are monsters, its funny and I dont know how many others have felt this over the season ,but even though we have watched these teams on the telly for years you never actualy realise just how damn big some of these guys are.Huth was just swatting DJ away every time the ball was played up to him,and its no wonder they score so many goals from Delaps long throws with Shawcross stood in front of the Keeper, you'd need a bloody sledgehammer to move him. Us well we huffed and puffed but never came to terms with the windy conditions and Stokes in your face play. The back four looked as solid as it has all season, which I know isnt saying a lot but with Evo and Baps we do have a real alternative to Cathy. Midfield was the weak link possibly for the first time this season, and it wasn't Gnashers who bit legs all afternoon,Charlie had as poor a game as I can remember and though Vaughny won his share of the tackles his distribution seemed to me to be off. Up front, well if all you get is high balls and your playing against a team that big you get nothing, which is exactly what happened, nothing. The atmosphere in the North seemed ok nothing brilliant but not bad.I think it was the tension of the day and the sterility of our attacking play that kept it a bit flat,I felt we where waiting for the spark to get us all going but it never came. Oh well, onwards and upwards Spurs next week lets hope the Ref gives us two dodgy goals like he did Chelski, and they say the "Big" clubs dont get the rub of the green Fat lady, well I'v not seen her, still think she's booked into a travellodge on the M6 very close to Wigan.

Good synopsis, John. At times I thought the (home) crowd was a bit fragmented, no cohesion, unlike as in previous games, but that could be put down to nerves as it was (to me) a must-win game, or at best, get something out of it. The North was pretty vocal - if they had a drummer in there (and Hoggy in the South) then we'd make some real noise. Front row in 'A' Block, East, (couldn't sit next to son-in-law and grandaughter - ticket machine refused me, first time ever!) sat right in front of a pillar (!!) and just behing the medics - there were 6 guys in the row behind me - no expressions, no vocals, no nothing - and they weren't wearing any colours.... . Tailor's dummies....? Thought you were in the East as well? We did very well against Delap's throws like you say Evo and Baps were outstanding, but the midfield didn't seem to gel as we know they can. Should have kept it on the ground. Stoke have always had 'big guys' all round so it's no wonder they had the advantage there. YL. p.s. Isn't this the first time we haven't scored at home?
