It's something I'v been thinking about for a while (quietly on my own) What if the unmentionable happens?? www.blackpoolgazette.co.uk/sport/football/blackpool-fc/holloway_s_future_plans_1_3318650Looking at Ollie's thoughts and pondering who's out of contract and who has stepped up to the Prem level I have to draw the conclusion that it could be the end of this team as we know it. I think we all believe that whatever happens Charlie will be gone but what about the others? We cant be the only ones to have noticed how well Vaughny has stepped up and if Cardiff got promoted I would expect Dave Jones to come in for him, return to Wales, more money and playing in the Prem, you would hardly expect him to turn hie nose uo at the prospect. Steven Crainey, dito only with Leeds the likely team Larry is a big admirer and he is at that stage of his carreer that one final decent move would secure his families future. Would someone come in for DJ now he's proved he can score at the top level? Want a big powerfull centre half who has also shown he can do it? Want a keeper?well we have one that doesn't seem to want to be here. Sorry going to have to stop now I'm depressing myself! No getting away from the fact though that this could be a pivital period for the present bunch of players. Lists X and Y are bound to be very different.

Was that your 'A List' above, John? Seriously, It is something Wee Ollie , the Club, the fans, and club management, will have to address sooner rather than later, and from what I can gather, he (IH) certainly isn't looking forward to the prospect of the likes of, especially, Charlie, Vaughanie, DJ, and Evo - in fact, the 'spine' of the team - going to pastures new. We all know KO has stated things will be looked at in the summer - I just hope he doesn't dither about like he is wont to do. i.e. selling off our players for peanuts, sorting things out at the last minute - the week before the new season starts as in the past! - and leave us with a very threadbare squad for next season. I for one am not looking forward to this close season with so many whose contracts are due to end in the next three/four months. Another criteria is that a helluva lot depends on which league we will be in as well - hopefully the Prem.. I reckon it will be akin to the last day of the transfer window but spread over 120-odd days! YL.
