Found this and its starting to appear on more press web sites now... Couple of things i thought we had a option on evo? and as for keepers leaving i really hope we have some replacements in place already? Can not understand letting Richard go unless you already have a replacement if true and we need a keeper to challenge for the jersey as well. no doubt we can all discuss this in more detail after sunday psst don't tell ted that gnasher has been offered a new contract Blackpool have reportedly offered new deals to defender Ian Evatt, midfielder Keith Southern and striker Brett Ormerod. The Seasiders have moved to offer new terms to the trio to avoid losing them for nothing at the end of the season. All three are out of contract in the summer, but because they had options which would see their wages reduced included in their deals they have been forced to table them new contracts or risk losing them on free transfers at the end of the season. In a similar situation as to how Everton saw Dan Gosling leave on a free to Newcastle last year, the Blackpool trio had to be offered new deals before the third Saturday in May otherwise they would be considered free agents. Meanwhile, Blackpool are set to release goalkeeping duo Richard Kingson and Paul Rachubka at the end of the season. Ghana international Kingson joined Blackpool on a short-term deal last September and his contract will not be renewed, while former Manchester United shot-stopper Rachubka has struggled with a series of injuries this season. Defensive duo Danny Coid and Rob Edwards will also leave Bloomfield Road after the club decided not to take up options on their expiring contracts. However, Ian Holloway's side have taken up the option on keeping Billy Clarke, who has missed all of the season with a ruptured cruciate knee ligament injury he sustained in pre-season. Highly-rated young defender Ashley Eastham, who has enjoyed spells on loan at Carlisle and Cheltenham Town this season, has been offered a new deal to stay at the club.

With it looking like Gilks is leaving as well Looks like its start again as far as keepers go,fancy a cheeky bid for Robinson if we stay up and they go down.
Whatever happens it looks like Ollie is clearing the decks for a few new faces this summer, its going to be a very different team next year for sure. The quality of player that comes in is all down to what happens this Sunday.
I'm sure Ollie has two lists of players I just hope and pray he's looking at the Prem one come Monday.

Would be gobsmacked if the King is just allowed to go, I know he has his detractors, and our better performances have been since Gilks is back. However, I firmly believe our improvement is due to the old mid of Gnasher, CA and Vaughny biting a few legs, DJ getting in the groove with a more fixed set of partners, and Baps moving back alongside Evo, with Cathie( who was awesome earlier in the season ) coming in to shore up the defense when we had something to defend. Richard is one of the best reflex keepers I have seen at B/R, and with work on positioning and commanding his defence, reckon he could become an alltime great, to rank with those from my youth, George Wood and Budgie. Hope this is untrue Press speculation

Got to agree 100% i think Baps coming back has helped Gilks nearly all the papers over the last few weeks have said how flat footed gilks is.
Even if he has a outstanding game at united he is still not my Number 1 choice..
Having the advantage of being sat right behind goal I have noticed how little Gilks communicates with his back 4 and at one point on saturday i thought Baps was going to kill him.
True Richard needs to work on commanding his area but his reflexes are far quicker in my humble opinion.
You also have to look at the teams gilks has faced since coming back.
I never knock a pool player but for me he nailed his true feelings to the mast before Christmas and shows very little passion.
not one for me i guess

I do think this rule about sorting out contracts by the third week of May, when the Prem is still going, is absolutely barking. How can any player who knows he's not wanted be expected to perform. Say Gilks takes a knock in training, and the King has to play after all. Where is his head going to be, is he going to put his body on the line (remember when Van Persie? trampled him, but he'd got the ball?)

We do not know what goes on behind the scenes, so with Gilks playing can only guess that Ollie prefers him in the team rather than Kingson. I think BJC is correct, Ollie will start again with the keeper position for next season just to add to the other positions he will no doubt be looking for to complete the squad.

Cheers for that, explains a lot Don't look too happy to be put in that position by contract law, do he, I guess this is where the League and Prem being different gives real problems. Still, it wouldn't be Blackpool if it was made easy for us. Demoralise half the team, need points and go to the Champions on the last day of the season, hey ho.

I wish I hadn't watched that video now. Ollie looked like a man that had taken just one too many kickings. Just hope he can get himself and the players up for Sunday. :-/Keep the Faith

This was supposed to be the Close Season Article we’ve all been waiting for I suppose, but due to the unfortunate circumstances of the players' contracts signed as if we were still in the CCC....
According to Thursday's 'Gazette' (19th May) Wee Ollie is quoted - "I'm not saying saying who we've released - that will come out in good time...." and I believe that still stands?
Notwithstanding all the re-signings, here’s my idea of who would go, who could stay, and what we could do in order to build up the squad for next season – in the Prem/CCC. The main sticking point is that the majority of our squad have their contracts running out in the next month, so………
(1) LOANS: Luke Varney (on loan from Derby County) BUY or RETAIN ON LOAN James Beattie (on loan from Rangers) GET RID Sala Sbai (on loan from Nimes) RETAIN ON LOAN Jason Puncheon (on loan from Southampton) BUY Sergei Kornilenko (on loan from Zenit SP) RELEASE Marlon Harewood (out on loan to Barnsley, dust up with IH, contract runs out 30/6/11) RETAIN ? Jason Euell * (out on loan to Doncaster, contract runs out 6/11) GET RID Ish Demontagnac * (out on loan to Chesterfield, contract runs out 6/11) RETAIN Rob Edwards (out on loan to Norwich, contract runs out 6/11- but re-signed) RETAIN Louis Almond(u-21) (out on loan to Barrow, contract runs out 6/11) RETAIN Ashley Eastham (u-21) (out on loan to Cheltenham, contract runs out but re-signed) RETAIN
(2) DEFINITELY LEAVING: (?)
Charlie Adam Will go either to Man.Unt, Spurs, or Liverpool….or the highest bidder. Paul Rachubka looked at by Arsenal, stayed only because South was being built. LET HIM GO Stephen Crainey wanted by Celtic and Leeds. David Vaughan Sunderland, Stoke & WBA target…or back to Wales?
(3) POSSIBLES ?
Ian Evatt (contract runs out 6/11 but re- signed) RETAIN Gary Taylor-Fletcher (c – 6/11) RETAIN Alex Baptiste (c - 6/13) RETAIN Craig Cathcart (c – 6/13) RETAIN Dudley Campbell (c – 6/12) RETAIN
(4) REMAINDER: Keith Southern (contract runs out 6/11/renewed) RETAIN Neal Eardley (c – 6/11) RETAIN Brett Ormerod (c – 6/11) RETAIN Mark Halstead (u-21=can be played regardless of 25-man-squad, contract runs out 6/11) RETAIN Elliot Grandin (c - 6/12) RETAIN Chris Basham (c – 6/13) RETAIN Ludovic Sylvestre (c - 6/13) RETAIN Matthew Gilks (c – 6/11) RETAIN Matt Phillips (u-21) (c – 6/13) RETAIN Richard Kingson (c – 6/11) RETAIN David Carney (c – 6/11) RETAIN Stephen Husband (u-21) (c – 6/12) RETAIN Thomas Barkhuizen (u-21) ? RETAIN Liam Tomsett (u-21) ? RETAIN
(5) NOT IN 25-MAN SQUAD AND OVER 21: * Danny Coid contract runs out 6/11 RELEASE Malaury Martin contract runs out 6/11 contract RELEASE Billy Clarke also r/o 6/11 RELEASE
(It will be noted that my preferences were made prior to those given new deals and other events of this week.)
First off, I would love to be a ‘fly on the wall’ when IH and KO get together to discuss the squad, ........."Wee Ollie’s ‘A’ and ‘B’ Lists……" who to release, and who to buy, for next season…then again, wouldn’t we all!
As you can see, I’ve selected 7 for ‘release’ or ‘get rid’, plus 4 defo leaving, so taking that into account, we need at least the same number coming the other way, but the 64,000 dollar question is – who can we get - at the right price, and would fit into our team ethos - to fill those gaps?
Go down or stay in the Prem - ? If it is unfortunately the former, personally, I believe Wee Ollie will set his sights low and concentrate on good First Division players with a couple of snips from Scotland or abroad, and if affordable, the CCC.
I know we have a bit of money, but not the financial clout to compete sensibly with the likes Birmingham, Villa, Wigan, Wolves, QPR, Forest or Leeds…..or do we?
It is yet unknown what ‘transfer pot’ IH will be given/has been given, either by Uncle Val or KO, or both, but I don’t see the latter sanctioning any £2million+ deals, any road…
With us having the worse-ever goals-against ratio in the Prem – 70-odd -- it is the defence we really need to start with, and my initial reaction would be to go for a goalkeeper – but Who? Thoughts....?
No doubt this topic will be re-appraised come Monday, once we know for certain either way - stay or go down in a blaze of glory.

Sure your right re the G K position, but what worries me from your list Yeni, is that three of your definitely and five of your possibles is in fact 8 of our regular players, now that is frightening. That's most of the first team. Do not disagree with your thoughts, but just makes you think. The other point is that there will be no competing reserve side next season, so not sure what the remainder of the squad will be up to.

I asked the young keeper on twitter about the reserves and they have no idea what is going on... I am sorry to see the reserve team football go, especially when we stay up as it others people a cheap afternoon out and a chance to see fringe players

At least we (Wee Ollie in particular) don't have to worry about the 25-man squad thingy next season....
Quite a few have now had a taste of the Prem and will do their damnest to stay there, I'm thinking, apart from the fact that those I've put in in the 'to leave' category have caught the eye of other Prem Managers, and....... ?
