Expect this to go through on Friday once his contract runs out
According to reports Wigan Athletic are ready to grab Blackpool defender Stephen Crainey.
The People claims Latics boss Roberto Martinez is close to landing the Irishman.
The Seasiders are desperate to keep the full-back and have tried to persuade him to stay by offering to make him the highest-paid player at the club.
However, Martinez is hoping that offering the 30-year-old the chance to remain in the Premier League will make the difference

Though I,d be sad to see him go I cant find it in myself to be angry with him. We got him for nothing and as far as I am concerned he has always given of his best for us.So good luck to him if he gets a nice contract and at least one more year right at the top of the game Just think its a shame it's not with us. Though its not a done deal yet is it?

Yes agree, would be sad to see him depart, just one of many from our last Championship team who stepped up to the plate in the Premier even though some of our fans thought he wouldn't be able to. After the Emirates game many a player would have been down and out but not Crainey, he came back and just got stronger and stronger, good luck to him where ever he goes, will miss his runs and above all his effort, gave a lot to the team, will be missed very much if he goes.
