West Ham have opened talks with Blackpool striker DJ Campbell.
The 29-year-old is reported to have attracted Premier League interest following the Seasiders' relegation out of the top flight last season.
Sunderland were reported to be leading the chase early on, while Aston Villa have also been linked with an approach.
Campbell plundered 13 goals in the top flight last season proving he has what it takes to compete among England's elite.
He could, however, be tempted to remain in the second tier and join West Ham's promotion push.
The Hammers are looking to bounce back into the top flight at the first time of asking and Sam Allardyce is busy piecing together a squad capable of taking that step.
It is understood that he is keen to bring Campbell on board and discussions regarding a possible deal have begun.

It dosn't anger me, just felt a tad disappointed as he said he loved it here but wanted to play for a Premier league outfit. I have no problem on that score, but do remember we gave him a home when he was an outcast at Leicester, Ollie did wonders with him and here he is now possibily leaving for another Championship club. As a player thought he could improve on his finishing, with that said he gave a lot in terms of chasing, could never call him lazy, I liked him and was very glad we took him on even though he had little understanding of the off side rule when he first came to us. Have to wish him well wherever he goes, even West Ham, he was after all part of a team that got us over the moon, shame we had to come home, he may have stayed with us.

I wont be angry if he joins the Hammers, I will however be disappointed with him.
Actually I think he should stay if he cant get a move to the prem, it would be for his own good, look at the stats. For Pool 30 goals from 66 games, at his other league clubs 26 goals from 115 games.

I will be very angry if he went to West Ham and not a premier team. Most probs all paper talk and such. Throw money at him to keep him here IF no premier team want him.

maybe i gave it a bad title lol I will be very disappointed with DJ if he only moves sideways and not to the premiership...
I did say some weeks ago that he could end up at West Ham as he lives only 15 mins away from the ground.
Dj your loved at Blackpool which is something you have not had at other clubs, and when you sit and look at the work ollie is doing and the people he is trying to bring in, its clear he only has one thing in mind and thats getting back to the prem

How many goals does he think he will score in a side managed by Sam Allardyce? On the road to nowhere with the Hammers DJ and yes, I would be disappointed too if he went to another Championship side but if he doesnt want to wear our shirt, so be it. UP THE POOL
