We are giving a try out to trialist Dean Bouzanis
an Australian footballer who plays as a goalkeeper. He is currently without a club.
Born in Sydney, New South Wales, Bouzanis was raised in Australia to Greek parents, and attended De La Salle College in Cronulla.[
His talents were first seen at his local soccer club, Carss Park, whilst playing in the Under 9's alongside close friend Nikolas Tsattalios.
Bouzanis then went on to play in the NSW State League for St George Saints at 14 before joining the NSW Institute of Sport.
Bouzanis spent three weeks with the Liverpool first team squad in January 2007 and was offered a three year deal.
Liverpool's manager Rafael Benítez rated him at the time as the best goalkeeper in the world of his age.
He was loaned to A-League side Sydney FC as understudy to Clint Bolton and was included in the club's squad for their AFC Champions League 2007 campaign, but did not appear at the tournament. The loan spell was expected to be extended until January 2008, but Sydney delisted him from the club.
He appeared for Liverpool's under 18 and reserve teams and after a loan deal with Conference National team Wrexham fell through in July 2009, in November he joined Accrington Stanley on loan, subsequently making 14 league appearances for the club.
In May 2011 Bouzanis left Liverpool after mutually agreeing to a release with one year remaining on his contract.

Depends on how many keepers they have at the time at liverpool I guess.
plus they have been told to cut down the squads to help cover the increased cost of Kennys spending spree.
We need somebody to push Gilks, might be this guy might be somebody else, at least we will knwo by the end of August

I think we need at another keeper if we seriously want to push for going straight back up if Gilks getes injured we could be in trouble and I'd love to get a new keeper and let Gilks watch from the bench

Personally, I'd like to see us bring in 2 Keepers so the Traitorous Bar Steward can rot in his own private purgatory for the duration of his contract . . .
. . . unless someone offers us a million for him, I'd be happy to see the club pay that to get rid of him

Australia Under-23 contender Dean Bouzanis is close to reviving his stalled career in England by joining Championship club Blackpool, according to his Australian-based agent Terry Palapanis.
“Dean has been there (in Blackpool) for six days now being watched by the club’s coach Ian Holloway and I’m confident he will have done enough to land a deal,” Palapanis told The World Game.
“He wants very much to stay and play in Europe , that’s where his mind is right now.
“He opted to leave Liverpool because he didn’t see a himself progressing there, even though he had done well in the reserves.
“Blackpool is a big club. They are looking to bounce straight back to the Premier League and there is a back-up spot available after they let a couple of keepers go (Paul Rachubka and Richard Kingson).

we seem to specialise in reviving a stalled career. Could be one of those little diamonds that Ollie (and his Mrs) have found. Rather have raw talent and the right attitude than a big name with excessive demands and expectations. It wasn't big names that got us promoted but finding players with talent and a point to prove. IOWT.

Well said pete, this is what annoys me about everybody going on about big money signings, if nothing its been provied that the right attitude and desire can sometime override the big ego's.
All i would say is that when we regain our premiership status, that next time round we might have to spend some money lol

This gripe with Gilks is a bit boring. Back to the Vino Tinto I think.
