Wondered how many people still buy a matchday Programme in this day of everything being in the electronic format.
or maybe the modern generation just can not be bothered to read.
I still buy one and the otherday decided to have a look through some that have been stored away, some are rather amusing when you look at the adverts and pics of the players and the managers page.
I had a look at the very first game i ever attended this morning not that i can remember it sadly but somebody bought me a Programme, and it struck a cord with me the managers page which is detailed below made me smile.
Blackpool Vs Luton Town 30th april 1977 2nd division
Alan Brown Column
It made me mad to read the sunday reports on our match at fulham. We dicated the second half and if any team was going to win it was us.
But because George Best was unable to play in the second half through a back injury , the papers implied that was the reason for our superiority. Nonsense, best did nothing in the first half.
Billy Ronson played him tight and didn't give him a kick worth mentioning.
So long before Ian it looks like the pool already had a outspoken manager lol.
The Team against Luton was as follows
George wood Paul Gardner Steve Harrison Billy Ronson Paul Hart Peter suddaby Derek spence Stan Mcewan Mickey Walsh Bob Hatton Bill Bentley
Blackpool won 1-0

I still buy them, but only for my dad, as he keeps them, got loads in his loft I read them on match day's but after that, hand them over to collect dust.

No worries, Lou, I'd heard on the radio about traffic jams around the M6, so wasn't too surprised you weren't in when I was. Mind you, took forever to get into the ground, not sure why?
