The match reports sections of the newspapers this morning are something of a shambles, largely because journalists were rather compromised in their coverage of Football League games over the weekend.
The Newspaper Publishers Association have been in dispute with both the Football League and the Premier League over various things, including issues of live coverage on websites, how quickly photographs from games appear online and, believe it or not, Twitter.
On Friday night it looked like press boxes around the country would be boarded up like derelict branches of Woolworths, but in the end one or two clubs relented and let reporters in.
Many weren't though, and had to buy tickets and sit with the fans (notably Henry Winter of The Daily Telegraph), while some of those that were admitted were told by their employers not to sign anything that looked like an agreement.
Most papers have cobbled together match reports, but as no photo agencies were allowed into the games, these match reports are illustrated with an attractive range of pictures taken on mobile phones, photos on file from previous games and screengrabs from TV.
Fleet Street hasn't taken this lying down though. Some papers - notably The Sun - expressed their displeasure and stuck it to the bolshy clubs by making sure the names of team sponsors don't appear on their pages, in some cases pixellating logos on players' kits.

sadly I fear that for The Times at least, the loss of Premier league status seems to have thrown the cloak of invisibility over 'Pool. Saturday contained hidden away, the Hull result but nothing else. They also ran a prediction for the championship which had us "bottom half" but nowhere in the text of the piece were 'Pool mentioned. for interest the promtions predicted were West Ham, Leicester and Forest, with Watford , Barnsley and Doncaster going down. Sunday Times also no mention - though at least they had the excuse that it was a day too late.

Yep i read my sunday times and scanned it twice before i came to the conclusion we where not mentioned lol.
I think i would rather be under the press radar for a while anyway so everybody can concentrate on the football rather than Ian.
as for forest they need promotion considering they are 64 million in debt and losses of 40 million over the last 5 years, now thats a club on the verge

I personally couldn't give a foetid dingo's kidney wether another newspaper was ever printed again.....they all spout opinionated shite that I don't want to read because it makes me angry! I haven't bought a newspaper (except for the IOS last season for Ollies articles & to keep a record of our Prem season) since the early 80's and I haven't missed them one bit. Let's face it, you can't even use 'em to wrap chips in these days and with so many houses having central heating, there's not much call for them as fire lighters either!
Think of all the trees that would be saved if no newspapers were ever published again.....make much more sense than all this "carbon footprint...global warming" bollocks....shut the f***ing lot of 'em I say!

only problem with no supporting sky micky is that we could end up with somebody like FOX which would mean the game being broken down into 4 periods of 22 mins 30 secs lol. mind you we could get cheerleaders so not all bad

I heard on Beeb a few days ago that Fox in the US is so extreme, the White House treats it as a hostile in news conferences, rather than as journalists.

True, Fox news has a very bad reputation as they are a lot more relaxed on news reporting in the USA
