Some of you may already know but Arnold School is merging with King Edwards School in Lytham next year. Just announced yesterday. Arnold Kids will be moving to Lytham leaving some lovely green playing fields behind. What a great opportunity for KO to spend some cash, build a training ground, and do something with the local kids.

Trying to think of a polite way of putting this but I can't !!!
FRACK OFF !!!
Best thing they could do is scrap the merger . . . . Bulldoze that craphole on the seafront at St Annes . . . . . sell the land to The club and develop a training ground there !!!!
The elysian fields of Arnold Avenue should never be used for anything other than Rugby, Hockey & Cricket and the ritual annual slaughter of sports teams from Rossall, KES & KGS

Let's just say as a former Arnold pupil I view KES with the same scorn that as a Blackpool fan I view the Sheep worriers of Deepdale

not king teds the pitches are worse than squires gate and the sand gets in all the wrong places especially if you got some 6ft 5 fast bowler running up and your caught in a sand storm.

But putting that all to one side its a ideal chance to buy the whole site.
Instant football academy and training ground

Feel i should stick up for my old school here
april, i am not a fan of the merger either and hate to see the name of KES muddied with that or A*****. spent many a time on the fields of A'nold Ave and think it is a geeat site for the pool to train, as long as they don't have to wear that awful green outfit!
I agree our old fields at KES are indeed sandy, but excellent in the winter as never get water logged or frozen - no cancelled games for us!
Have to say i was uneasy over the merger with the maggots too, but at least they had nice coloured jumpers

If the shithole that is Arnold School is the best option for a training ground then we may as well stay put and save the money!

Speaking as a BGS old boy, you jumped up privately educated persons from Arnold and all places south were generally accepted by us as over opinionated faggots sissies, so personally it would please me greatly and would be a fitting end to that establishment if its most famous local old boy, Sir Jim (an obvious exception to the rule) could see it turned into something useful at long last. Arnold School motto I believe reads, honor virtutis praemium - honour is the reward of virtue. BUT The BGS motto would seem to be rather more appropriate in the circumstances meliora sequamur - here we strive for better things der der der, der der der
