Pride and Passion is missing from the national team and missing from many walks in life today in this country.

Interesting about his thoughts on the effect the U20s had on Matty. I would have hoped the opposite would have happened. Stick him on the wing and the crowd at Bloomers will give him all the confidence he needs. Cream always rises to the top.

The comment about Matty hit me, too. What the blinkin 'eck are our junior teams doing playing defensive football, the idea is to develop them not stifle them
Agree with Whit about Pride and Passion, but I don't know why. I meet many people who are proud of their country, family, company, hometown, education, etc, and yet we all think it is not as it was. Dare I suggest that this is yet another item where negative reactionary media are creating a false impression? I think lack of pride

Its the longest World Cup hangover in history. The sooner we get rid of the Chelsea mafia, who I recon run the dressing room, the better. With Sven having a sub fest and not a team ,and Fabio struggling to find a system that looks a threat, why go overseas when we have Arry ,or even Allerdice, who would at least introduce some passion. I'd rather watch us have a go than try negative euro football any day.

To me Fabio Capello should go and go now, it is clear he can get the players to play for him and i really do not see the logic in paying the guy to take us to the euro 2012 lets just pay him off now.
We do need some fire back in the squad and desire, and as for the players just remind me again why they get paid to play for England? sorry the pride of wearing the shirt alone should be enough, if their is some silly rule that they have to be paid thats fine, just make it a penny.
as you can tell it really annoys me this whole england thing maybe i'm just getting older but i find myself turning the matches of now as they just bore me to death.
Christ last time we did not even have a team song for the world cup, silly things like the song help people make a connection with the team and the event.
In my humble opinion the last time england played enjoyable and entertaining football was under Sir Bobby.
rant over

Strewth, if Allardyce is the answer, we are in trouble!!!!!!!!! We need someone with (Whits words) passion and pride, who will run through brick walls for the national team, who will select players who will do the same, ditching the arrogant waste of spaces, and get a team to play with a smile on their faces and a song in their hearts, play to the crowds, chat up the media and entertain. I really hate to say this, but there is only one obvious candidate, and you all know who it is. Thank goodness the football authorities are so thick

The england job does not need to be full time so he can fit it in sadly our ollie will always be the new Brain clough in the eyes of the FA. just think how exciting it would be though
