Well its the morning after the day before and I find my mind full of all sorts of ramblings after our activity in the transfer market and a sore head after hitting it against the wall in frustration last night so bare with me.
But this is not going turn into a witch hunt over Karl I will leave that to other sites that seem to be busy gathering pitch forks and burning torches in readiness to march on Bloomfield.
Having said that some things do need answering not that the gazette will ask the questions just in case they upset somebody.
I suppose my frustration is over 2 players first being puncheon and arguing over the sale price basically they wanted a million and we refused and the inability to secure the young lad Flock from rangers who will now be playing a full season in division 1.
Clubs know we have money and sadly the price will increase but sometimes you just have to bite the bullet and take the gamble Karl.
Personally I think you should have given ollie the money from DJ and Charlie transfers and said its yours to burn which would have been around 5 million, knowing that we still have 3 years of parachute payments to cover the wages, a couple of players on 2 year contracts with the normal 1 year option, would it have been to bigger gamble to take? Personally I think not.
So we come to all the free agents that where already on the market and the host of players that where released yesterday as well, maybe there are some signings to have amongst that lot and nobody should be shocked if we suddenly find a certain Mr Beattie rocking up at Bloomers but that is a whole new thread in its self.
Okay so we have the loan market and Ian has proved before that he can make some very good Signings in this area, But what happens if Ian pulls if of and we win promotion to the premiership again with 4 or 5 loan signings in the squad? They leave and before we start the squad is depleted and we are back to square one.
Somethings need to be sorted out, for us to move forward one of them being the training ground its okay taking the view that it was good enough last time round, but it does not really help the cause when trying to sign players and improve fitness and players skill.
Having said all that lets not forget that Ian has been given 11 new players so far, players that might not have been top of his list, but still players he was happy to sign so what are we going to do with them all as the squad reaches nearly 40 players?
Things that need to sorted this week to improve moral within the fan base and steady the ship from the fans point of view. Firstly please can you sit down with Ian and get a new contract sorted out for him so then at least we are not all wondering where he will be managing come may next year and Southerns and GTF contracts sorted out please.
Finally to those planning their big demonstration against Karl, please find another way of doing it rather than the next home game as this will not help the team or manager one bit, love him or hate him he is the chairman and that's the way it is.
Rambling complete

Frustration is the tip of the iceburg, I Honestly thought we would be a little bit more ambious with our transfers We have a Right Back for a month when we have 2 good ones already and Bogdanovic who I'm not too conviced with but just have to trust Ollie unless he is feeling the same as we are. How long has Ollie got on his contract ? hate to say it but if he is feeling let down with the backing from Karl the offers from the prem might look tempting.

From the Gazette web Site All the bids made by the Seasiders so far have been rejected, though they are hoping for better luck today. Holloway admitted: “No-one sees us in the same light now. They see us with loads more money in the bank and the price gets inflated. “The minute we went up it was ‘ch-ching’. Clubs put a couple of noughts on their players when we call. “That’s not just transfer fees but players’ wages as well because the agents get carried away. “We are doing the same things and trying to run the club in the same way we always have, but others don’t see that and treat us differently. I can’t control that and it is frustrating. www.blackpoolgazette.co.uk/sport/football/blackpool-fc/blackpool_inquire_about_more_than_15_transfer_targets_1_3727427

The evets of the last few weeks in the transfer market havn't surprised me at all. Since the departure of three of our best players we have all realised where our weaknesses lie, a goalkeeper to compete with Gilks, a midfielder who can create movement and a couple of strikers. A very positive start to the season with the squad, so far so good with no injury worries or supspensions, but how long can this go on for and if we don't strengthen the squad, where will we end up come end of season. I have mentioned this before, I see the club in a safe pair of hands with KO, but I don't see ambition. I believe he sees the club in terms of it's stadium (size) and fan base, as a Championship side without having to gamble with expensive players their associated high wages and the constraints imposed by being in the Premier league. The league we are in is probably his comfort level. I have followed this club for a lifetime and never have I witnessed the divide between the English first and seconed divisions as it is today, it is enormous at all levels. I really enjoyed the last season, seeing new grounds, playing the best football for many many years and then feeling downright dissapointed at the very end, we gave it a shot and it nearly paid off, we were loved by most of the country for what we did and are still remembered fondly by many fans up and down the country as I found out at Brighton and Palace. I have come to the conclusion that long term, I see ourselves as an established Championship club I just don't see the will from the management to take us any further and the gamble that would be needed to accomplish this added task. I could always be proved wrong of course.

I could understand it if we where in the last 2 years of payments from the premiership, but this was the one chance we had to show some intent, at the end of the day like you said we all knew what we needed. We have a good core of a squad all we needed was 3 players...
I hope the club come out and say something rather than taking the normal mushroom approach towards the fans.
I do hope we are looking at the players let go last night as well

Time for a reality check guys. The reality check involves fans disappointment at not making million pound signings. For fucks sake, get real. We dont need them and dont want them. What happened to the last player we paid over a million squid for? Ollie agrees with the chairmans stance. That will do for me. End of. As Ye Olde's mantra has always been, "In Ollie we trust" When was it ever this good at Bloomfield Road even though we are back in the Championship? I love the Championship. I love Blackpool FC. Come on, ditch the doom and gloom, you sound like fuckin 606' ers - or worse still, the 'big club' syndrome fans we used to take the piss out of on 606. Please, please, please, dont go down that road. We are Blackpool. "Lets be aving you" UP THE POOL

was just reflecting on the nights events not asking for millions, just would rather sign them rather than having to loan them.
Not so much doom and gloom, as i just wish the club would communicate with the fans.
The club has lots of new season ticket holders and i just don't want to see all the hard work they have done, go down the pan.
what i don't like is some of the rubbish i have read about Bogdanovic the poor guy has not even kicked a ball yet.

Afternoon, guys and gals
I won't pretend for one minute that I'm not disappointed, I was hoping that we'd have signed Punch when I woke up. Sherl, you have far better contacts than us, and if it was only 200k, it's a shame.
And as I've been doing my chores this morning, I've been thinking little else, and am delighted to see Sandgrown'un's response above.
Money corrupts and Sky money corrupts totally.
Last time we were in the championship, we were so proud of Ollie's ability to mould a TEAM out of journeymen and those who has failed to shine elsewhere. Don't forget, all those idiots who think KO was just after the money, he was the only Championship Chairman to vote against increasing parachute payments.
We laughed at those who spent millions to get promoted and failed, cos we knew it was team and tactics that were important. The thing that really made me realise what all this money does is those young laddies from NI, playing for a semi pro team, earning a couple of hundred a week, who expected thousands, whose club expected 100's of thousand, for basically unproven players, just because we had money. Ollie has said it again, a couple of noughts get added on, and agents rub their hands with glee ( and if you want to know what sort of people some agents are, ask Karen Brady about the threats they got!)
We also used to acknowledge that if you had a pay structure, and broke it for one player, you would destroy team morale. Were we ever seriously going to spend £5M on a player and pay him 30K plus per week? WHU played that cheating midfielder of their's £90k a week, how on earth will we compete with that?
Finally , players. Want to earn a lot, good luck to them, but that short bloke from Arsenal who impressed me at B/R tried to justify his move to Citeh by saying the fans had no passion, nothing to do with his wages been tripled, then. Ollie's trick has been to select those who really want to play, as Sherlock has shown, CA was still as football mad as a 8 year old kid. I honestly don't believe there were that many players who we could afford who would come to play for us.
So we'll have to do it the Blackpool way, supporting no matter what ( even if Beattie comes back LOL) and being proud of doing it despite the parachute payments, rather than because of it. And to those suggesting demos, your right, to those threatening violence, get back to school.
Love you all, guys

did not want to spend 5 million on one player maybe a million or even 2 but its done now. our last bid for pucheon was 200k short so we went back in and they said forget the money just give us EVO and you can have him at which point the deal was dead. as for loans i could be wrong but had we tried yesterday you could have them for the season, but now its a max of 93 days then ask again in january pro and cons i guess. plus the premership named squads don't come out till 5pm today i think. I see the young lad Flecks move has been refused by the FA as paperwork was late, should have come straight to us young man.

Maybe the choice of £5M was silly, sorry, I'm just not sure what was available at a million or two, better than we have? Let's not forget 14 signings, lots of raw talent and KP and BF, last summer we'd have needed oxygen at such a list Talking of all the talent, I wonder if he is going to get the reserves fit playing full games against the development squad, then slot the whole lot in for the mid week games. It is very apparent that the passing game needs people who play together a lot, maybe that is Ollie's next big idea, 2 full teams. That would explain why so many, and, if all else fails, they have had some great coaching, and can be sold on to provide another income stream

Glad to see many of us have a sence of realism that we will do it our way and not spend too much money. My biggest gripe with the club is how some aspects are dealt with, the training ground by now should be on the drawing board and building plans well on the way. Finishing off the ground by now should have been complete and it worries me greatly to read articles in the Gazette about the 'Colditz' fence erected at Squires gate training ground, the club surely would have known any fence over 2m high requires planning permission. Then being given 28 days to make such an application and just ignore this seems just plain stupid.
To rub salt in the wounds what do the club do - decline to make a comment.
Come on get a grip of the club and lets see it run professionally all the way through!

Spoke to my brother-in-law and the club requested it that high because people just climbed over a lower version and the staff where fed up off having to replace the holes caused by people tring out their golf swing on the pitches. The fence was orginally put up so the staff did not have to do their morning dog poo patrol before the players arrived. As for the new training ground i think they need to find somewhere else as the land at lytham has been found to be home to a rare species of newt. things like this the club should be telling the fans so we know what is going on and would stop half the moaning. Anybody got a bucket to stick under AVFTT and they seem to be in melt down have never read so much hate, but hey ho schools are back next week. thank god for our little tangerine safe haven. come on club just communicate with the fans and for the love of god update the web site please or do i have to send another email lol because the blog section is really starting to get on my nerves lol.

I dont think anyone expected millions to be spent but will have to see who we can loan. I heard Crouch signed for Stoke cause Spurs told him he wasn't going to be in the 25 man squad so it will be intresting to see who we can pick up. With Ollie building up a good rep last season for playing good football might be able to tempt some of the bigger teams to send some our way.
