Well excuse me the club pay their wages can not believe this and i don't care who it is may they rot in the development squad for the rest of the season
Holloways Mirror piece
"I discovered last week that it isn’t just Carlos Tevez who is getting too big for his boots. There are a couple of players at Blackpool, who I wanted to send out loan so they could get a taste of first-team football for a month or two. I couldn’t believe it when they both knocked on my office door – their agents in tow, of course – to tell me in no uncertain terms that they didn’t give a toss about what I thought was best for them and the football club. They advised me to stick my little plan where the sun don’t shine!
People think that it’s only spoilt £250,000-a-week superstars like Tevez who’ve lost the plot. But it seems that the virus Tevez unleashed at Manchester City has already spread to the lower divisions. You can’t talk to some footballers these days. More and more of them are only interested in what’s in it for them. It makes me sick. We are living in tough economic times. The man in the street is shelling out his hard-earned cash to pay these prima donnas their wages. For that, they should be able to expect players to do what is best for the football club that employs them.

correct, sorry but they are under contract with us and should not be able to refuse getting a bit of football time, Ian does not strike me as a person willing to forgive this sort of rubbish

I don't suppose any manager would like a player accompanied by his shop steward, sorry agent throwing their weight about as to what they will and will not do. The club comes first and if the manager believes a player will beneift from regular first team football, then so be it. Training is only part of the agenda, it has to be incorporated with playing for the player to gain anything. You tell them Ollie and if they don't like it, tough.

sad thing about this is the other press guys are starting to pick the story up. of course in some areas Ian is being blamed for saying something. Sod that, come out and name them Ian.
what i find comical about this, is the 2 players will only be getting a basic wage now as they earn more if they play any part in a first team game, but somehow i can not see their names making the team sheet or subs bench for rather sometime.
lock them in a dark room with Evo and Ferguson and see if their attitude as changed after 10 mins

And isn't that the whole pint of lack of respect. In the old days, the senior pros would enforce discipline and team spirit.
But then look at the example set by England's International teams
Nil desperandum

Can i have another clue on the first one, been a long night, been up with the little one with high temp and chicken pox!!!!!! If i was Ollie and knowing the way Ollie thinks i would not be surprised if he forgets about sending them out on loan for footballing reasons and sends them out for a months hard graft on minimum wage away from football as these spoilt little brats are obviously getting too big for their boots. When they come back they will realise how privileged they are!!!!! Makes my blood boil and just can't understand why they would undermine the gaffer and even not want to play regular football.

Playing Devils advocate, sometimes there are mitigating circumstances to
why somebody may refuse.
Perhaps the loan team was Exeter?
The players in question may have young family or other related issues that
require their attention.
We are all aware of IH's ability to shoot from the hip without considering
all the facts.
However, I must agree with the general opinion that they are a bunch of
spoilt brats clearly with too much time on their hands.
Perhaps they should be sent to Preston?

Let 'em rot in the stiffs for three or four weeks. They'll learn the error of their ways by the end of that. Oooops! we don't have any now. Shame. What's the next best thing, then? YL.

Just goes to show that they have an over-rated value of there own worth, but if you have an agent filling your head with "they don't appreciate how good you are" blah blah and "they can't do that" blah blah then its not surprising. The problem is that to an agent a player in the Championship/Premiership is worth far more than the lower leagues and even if its a loan move its all about status and current value (and therefore agent fees) to them.
If you follow that logic through though it shows that the agent does not believe his player will have another opportunity at the higher levels and therefore ultimately a lack of faith in his players ability....all very strange. If a player is really good enough he will make it but has to put in the hard yards first.
Ollie is right!

Well it looks like the naughty children have changed their minds so guess its okay to use their names now lol
IAN Holloway has told Billy Clarke and Matt Phillips they have big futures at Bloomfield Road, despite sending them out on loan.
The pair have joined League One Sheffield United for a month and could make their debuts in tomorrow’s Sheffield derby.

Sean Bean will be happy lol It will be interesting to see how they do for a month, albeit league 1 but hopefully they will get game time, play well and gain some confidence, so when they return both will be ready to push for a place. Think it's a good move for the pair for a month.
