Can Man City succeed where Chelski failed ie Dominate the EPL for the next 5 years One swallow doesn't make a summer but I sense a power shift at the top. Fergie and Wenger are on the back foot this season. A blip or something more fundamental? Nice to remember that with different officials we should have beaten both teams last season

Pete, just happened to notice yesterday that the wage bill for the two teams are £153m United and £133m for City for a year, what will they be in the next era I wonder and the players involved in the two squads come from 21 countries.

In answer to the question posed - No.
It's just one game, a blip, it's a marathon, not a sprint, as we keep telling each other (on similar topics)
United will still be there.
YL.

The only way to sustain that level of wages is for a Euro Super League to be formed. Probably more of a worry for the PL than Man Utd or City. If you were selling Sky subscriptions where would you put your money? Take the TV money out of the PL and it'll die. KO gets nothing but stick from many quarters for trying t keep it "real" but I've a feeling he's right to tell the emporer he's wearing no clothes. Who knows where it'll end.

If I may comment on the City owners, the recent 10 year sponsorship agreement was more than a name on shirts. The national airline that sponsors City is busy buying up property around Manchester, new slots at the airport etc.....
The aim is to transform Manchester Airport into the European hub for the airline along with providing facilities for visiting supporters and the rest that follows.
There is a large office facility under fitout in Manchester to house all this.
The family that own City have announced soccer schools on the back of City across the Middle East and have suggested player exchanges with the national team to gain experience (don't think they will like the climate).
Do not under estimate the wealth of this family.
You should also consider the Arab mentality of I can do better when considering Emirates and the clubs they sponsor in Europe and now Qatar dipping its toes in the water.
There is a little competition between them.
I only have one concern, at some point they will get bored, then what happens?
