Having a mind of my own, I'm in two minds about this!
There is no doubt the impact JJ and macca have had, but we have got one huge great squad with some allegedly very skilful players in it. We are not going to get a top striker, midfield genius or rock 'ard CB for a million or two.
Last January's signings and non signing (CA) blew our squad apart, wrecked the middle of the season, and was a major contribution to our relegation. We thought players of the experience of Beattie and Pieman would provide extra skill and guile, all it did was increase the food bill! If the right player to fit our squad comes along, great, otherwise, another loanee or two from the Prem may well give us more than a journeyman in our price range.
Of course, with the benefit of hindsight, I may well be talking bxllocks, wonder what BJC would have thought

Think BJC would still be hunting Karl down for January, personally i can not see us signing anyone for the simple reason it would take them 2 long to learn the system.
Would just like to see a midfielder coming in on loan just to keep fresh

If they're good enough they'll learn the system fast enough I think. I have a theory that Karl will release some funds if we are within reach of a play off. Its always been a case of pay/reward on results and I can't see that changing. Only hope that if funds are available Ollie will buy the right type of player rather than a has-been looking for a pay cheque (beattie and the weeble for example). Would love to see a serious offer for Jonjo, and maybe some back up for Gilks, but if nothing comes along then he would be better to keep his powder dry for the summer and use what he has already
